At Pug Rescue South Africa, we are deeply thankful for our supporters, both in South Africa and around the world. Your generous contributions help us provide the best possible care for our Pugs in need, despite the high costs involved. A vet once told Cheryl, "You chose to rescue Pugs," and we wholeheartedly embrace that responsibility.
We have dedicated caregivers whose sole focus is the well-being of our rescue Pugs and honourary Pugs. Every day, they groom the Pugs, clean their nose folds, ears, and eyes, and ensure that all medical needs are addressed. This daily care involves significant resources—we go through three packs of unscented wet wipes a day! Many of our rescues are older and require chronic medication, which we administer carefully and record accurately.
In many ways, we've transformed from a shelter into a sanctuary, where our Pugs are given two high-quality meals each day. Some require special diets to manage issues with their skin, joints, or digestion, and we also care for two diabetic Pugs, Pickle and Roxy. Our laundry machines run non-stop from 7 am to 4 pm to keep everything clean, and we have dedicated cleaning staff ensuring the accommodation areas are spotless with clean blankets, and kennel hands who ensure the grounds are spotless and "poo"-free.
Thanks to your unwavering support, we have food in our storeroom, medication in our cupboards, and enough resources to pay our staff and cover our bills. This level of care would be impossible without your donations, sponsorships, and support at our fundraisers. We can't express enough how grateful we are for your kindness and generosity, which allow us to care for this wonderful breed (and a few honorary ones too).
Thank you for believing in our purpose and for being part of our Pug Rescue South Africa family. We look forward to continuing this journey with you, and we're committed to providing the best care possible to these amazing Pugs.
