A friendly young fellow, DF WC CW Pied/Opaline, he was in the aviary as a keeper, he will produce girls like in the last picture.

There is another 1 of these just about ready to jump out of the nest as well. Very clean wings and there is more green in the wings than you can see in these pictures.

This pair are my keepers, out of the 4 or 5 pair I maybe able to keep they will be first on the list.

He is SF YF and she is SF WC, both I think are Red Violet Cinnamon Clearwings so with any luck I should get some very nice sized & very clean winged chicks, some will be YF some WC, some YF WC combo and some white face birds.

The first Whitecap Rainbow has jumped out of the nest, he should end up the same colour as his mum (second last picture, dad is last pic).

He's a bit on the smaller side but I have kept him anyway, he is a DF Whitecap Clearwing Dom Pied split Opaline.

Definitely a Whitecap Yellowface combo Dilute, you can see the Wcap coming through strong on the mask and YF covering the cap.

So I go and get a YF Violet CW out to try and work out the best place in my yard/house to get pics that will show the honest real life colours of him,,,,,,and what do you know.....today most of the pics show him with the same colouring with not much difference showing in those pics. 🤬🤔😂

Nothing worse than spending time taking pictures only to find when you look at them they are not capturing the true colours of these chicks. I checked out some paint colour charts and this boy a diluted lavender type colour.

I think I will give this girl 1 more go in the love shack, then she may want to leave home, she is great at laying and hatching but she plucked the youngest chick from her last nest, all chicks now currently being raised by a foster family.

The fussy eater is maybe not so smart, she is on the inside trying to get food from the outside tray.

She prefers her seed untouched by the others, none of them go inside the and do this.

It's the beginning of winter yet the girls still want to find a nest, every time I go in the aviary they come to the door and try to get behind it for a dark nesting spot.
