GOLD CREEK Miniature Cattle - Traditional White Galloways

GOLD CREEK Miniature Cattle - Traditional White Galloways We breed small, traditional White Galloways - perfect for cow cuddling. Docile & hardy- great for first-timers. Our cows were born and bred for AAT work.

Registered as miniatures, they perform well in the show ring. They're a joy to own. We breed small White Galloway cattle for the pure joy of it, in Braidwood, NSW. We are Suzanne Baker and Pamela Robinson, the owners of GOLD CREEK stud. Our cattle are for sale as paddock pets, breeding stock and Animal-Assisted Therapy co-workers. Our cattle are registered, full blood and purebred White Galloways.

Don't let their stud credentials put you off. They make great paddock pets. You can adopt a cow or calf and visit them on our farm (adoption is sponsoring, not buying).

The has wind picked up again and so has the calf count. This is why we need to have terms like 'ridiculously cute'. Storm Chaser and Rosslyn have teamed up to produce this beautiful, tiny, jet black bull.

Look at what the wind blew in! When the wind blows here, you never know what will happen next. It has been blowing a gale for days. Yes, we have our first ever Beltie - Belted Galloway. (We also breed a small number of unregistered Galloways to keep things interesting).

We think Harriet is a good name for her. What do you suggest? Following in the 'H' tradition starting with grandmother Hope, (Haddie's sisters Hush and Harlee and Haddie herself). This one has to start with 'H'.

Little mister is making himself comfortable with the cows. He walks around all of them each morning and here he is sidled up to Hush. He is already plastering mud in his curls just like he's watched the 'big bulls' doing!! Bless his little heart.

We went to Canberra yesterday and spent a fortune on... I can't remember what! We came home to discover Haddie had a brand new little heifer calf running around. A heifer - the perfect end to a long day.

Bessie and Roxy - wouldn't you just love to hear snippets of their conversation? Just taking in the winter sun and chatting away. They have been in with Storm Chaser for almost a week, now. So, life is about to get very interesting for these first-timers.

Nine days old and he's seriously practising his, 'I am the bull' look. We haven't settled on a name yet. What are everyone's favourites from the suggestions so far? Does not need to be a V name.

Jujube has decided it is time to have 'that' mother daughter talk with Jamboree. Three heifers went with some cows to join Stanley (the bull) yesterday. Stanley was paying young Jamboree far too much attention, as far as her mother was concerned. So, Jujube (the white cow), has just finished giving her daughter (the black heifer), a little 'heads up' on what to expect if she's not careful.

It is that time again, this gorgeous boy needs a name. His mother is Gold Creek Jubilee (Jaffa) and his father is Puddleby Stanley. The letter for the year is V. A good name, is a good name, so none of that or only some of that need apply. He is strong, lively and sweet natured.

Body heat! Jaffa and her bull calf are surrounded by heavy frost. Their little grass shelter is frost free and he isn't even shivering. Clever Jaffa keeping close to keep him warmer.

Jaffa gave me the 'I am not to be messed with' look this afternoon. She is 283 days pregnant and in no mood for anyone or anything. I left her in peace.

NEWS FLASH - IT'S A GIRLl!!
It turns out that Tilly had a little heifer calf, not a bull!! Even more for the new custodians to smile about.

Poor little Lucy is trying to find shelter from the wind between the big girls. This is after the wind dropped suffciently for me to go outside for a couple of minutes.

Anthony and Saeran can relax. They know their new bull calf has been up and had a drink from his mum now.

"No, not even a little bit funny!" according to Saffy, who is not one bit happy that I'm laughing at her ears. This is what two days of arctic wind does to a Galloway's hair do! Weatherzone reported that the temperature was at 5 degrees at 10:00 am but feeling like minus 4 thanks to the near gale force wind.

Look what Tilly did this morning (at her new home). A healthy, happy, beautiful, little dun bull calf. Tilly's new custodians, Anthony, and Saeran couldn't be happier. The calf has already had a sleep on Anthony's boots.

Today was AFF - absolutely fantastic fun. It was also AFF - absolutely freaking freezing. The cows haven't had any attention for days, so none of them wanted to miss out on some love. Staying warm, brushing cows and holding a conversation while your nose is running, your eyes are watering and every body part is shivering certainly burns up some energy. Big morning in the paddock.

Haddie is struggling to find the funny side of being this heavily pregnant and this uncomfortable. We have our fingers crossed for a little heifer calf for Haddie this time.
