We have had another successful bonding!!

We bonded Ginger and Memphis last week, and after a couple of days together, monitoring their friendship, I am pretty confident this will work😁

Memphis (the 6 month old himalayan) is definitely more outgoing and dominant than Ginger (the 1.4kg gentle giant who spends his life sleeping).
He definitely tests Gingers patience at times, but Ginger is doing really well at just ignoring him and not snapping back thankfully.

These boys will be up for adoption soon😊

🤣Typical Ginger🤣
I had just started bonding Ginger with Memphis, and he decided to take a nap😴
Memphis kept coming up to him, rumble strutting and annoying him and he absolutely could not care less!!

*disclaimer: the hide was not in there the entire time, they were starting to relax and not care about each other anymore hence why I slowly started adding accessories in*

🩷Millie + Maeve are ready to be adopted!!🩷

These 2 year old sows were owner surrenders who came to us about a month and a half ago. They had very rarely been handled so it has taken a little bit of time to get them used to people but they are slowly becoming more confident.
Although they are still a little shy, it is obvious that with a little bit more time and patience they will become the friendliest, and cuddliest little pigs.

🩵M A R L I E🩵

This lovely little boy is approximately 5 months old and is ready to find his forever home.

Marlie is looking to find a home where there is another lonely male looking for a friend.

He came into the rescue 3 and a half months ago as a single boar.
We tried bonding him with another young male (memphis) but Memphis didn’t like him so the bonding failed, leaving Marlie still looking for a friend.
We have been waiting for/hoping, another young single boar would come into the rescue (possibly being a single boar out of a litter or something similar), so we could introduce the two hoping for them to bond.
But after 3 months of waiting, I have decided it may be best to try and find him a home where another pig is looking for a friend before he gets older (as it may be harder to bond him with someone).

Please keep in mind, I will only be adopting him out to someone who has a pig looking for a friend.

This was yesterdays shopping trip for the next few days😅

• 11 giant lettuces - including cos and fancy
• 2 bags of carrots
• 2 large celery’s
• over 20 capsicums of all different colours
• 6 broccolis
• 3 kale bunches
• 3 bags of cucumbers (around 25 cucumbers altogether i think)
• 1kg bag of sweet potatoes
• 3 punnets of cherry tomatos

- not to mention the bales of hay and around $100 worth of pellets I just ordered🙄

🌸Meet Daisy🌸

We rescued this beautiful Satin baby today from a near-by pet shop who had absolutely no idea of her condition. She only looks to be around 5 weeks old🥺

Not only is she very obviously a satin piggy (you can’t really tell in these photos), she also has ringworm and lice which we began treatment for immediately.

Daisy will now be staying as a permanent resident here at the rescue with some of our permanent old ladies😊

Hi Everyone!!

Apologies for not posting much recently. I have been extremely busy over the school holidays and i’m absolutely exhausted😴

We have had tons of pigs boarding throughout the school holidays, as well as lots of bookings for nail trims and grooming’s. We greatly appreciate, as all of these funds go towards food for all of the pigs and every little bit helps😊

To make up for the past few weeks of no posts, here are a bunch of pictures of some of our babies!!

Delilah + Maple finally found their forever home last week!

Thankyou to the lovely lady who adopted them, I know they went to a great home where they’ll be spoiled!!

Bear + Panda have also made their way back to the rescue and will now be kept as permanent residents here.

We had 2 more beautiful sows join our rescue today.
Meet Millie and Maeve🩷

These girls were owner surrenders who have been used to free-roaming around a backyard, so we have got lots of work to do, getting them used to being handled but they are absolutely gorgeous!!! - And Millie has one blue eye!!!

GINGER UPDATE: He is doing so great!! He has been hand feeding for a few days now and has started interacting and talking to the other pigs in the room.
We will try and bond him with Memphis within the next few days as Memphis’s bonding with Marley didn’t go to planned unfortunately, so he is still looking for a friend.

We have also got 3 sows here for boarding at the moment for 11 days, which fills us back up to our capacity😊

UPDATE: They are on hold😁

These big, beautiful girls are now ready for adoption!!

• These lovely ladies are approximately 3 years old
• They are eating machines!!!
• They are American Long-Haired Pigs

This was definitely a very tricky decision to make as they are both absolute sweethearts and get along really well with our permanent older female herd, but we are running very short of space for permanent piggies and need to keep some spare space just in case it is needed for another piggy who is either older, a satin, has recurring health issues etc. who we have to keep here at the rescue permanently.

These ladies are currently housed with other females so will go well with other ladies that are either younger, or less dominant.

Meet Ginger!!

Ginger is a big beautiful boy who we rescued last night, who was living by himself in a small mouse cage. It looks as though he has been well fed as he is a massive 1.3kg at just a year old but he has some pretty sore feet with a big spur growing underneath one.

He is a very quiet, shy pig who has never been with a friend but we think he will benefit from another pig so we will be trialing him out with some young boars within the next few weeks to see if he likes the company. If not, he will be up for adoption in 2 weeks as a single boar😊🐹

Meet Hippo!!!

Over the last 3 days we’ve had 5 more piggies join our rescue putting us up to our maximum capacity.
4 of them are rescues (including Hippo) and unfortunately had to be shaved because of severe matting so they’re looking a little funny at the moment.
The two females out of the rescues both have massive lumps around the neck/shoulders, one being about 1.5 inches big, so they will be in at the vet this week😕 They both don’t have names yet so any suggestions would be appreciated😊

Hippo is the funniest big boy at about 3.5 years old. Considering he’s a rescue and we have only had him for 2 days, he is super friendly and will already take treats out of our hands. Him and his buddy Bambi will be up for adoption in about 2 weeks😊

Bear + Panda are still waiting to find their forever home!

These are the sweetest two boys ever! They are definitely a little shy but absolutely love a good cuddle and treat.
They are rescues, so ages are only approximate, but Bear is around 8-10months, and Panda is about 6months.

Hello Everybody!!
I just wanted to remind everybody that we offer short-term boarding/pet sitting! We are happy to look after your beloved fury friends for anywhere up to 15 days.

During your pigs stay, they will be housed indoors with grass time everyday as well as a large area for running around.
They will receive a wide range of vegetables everyday, pellets, and a large supply of hay 24/7 - as well as daily spot cleans and a full deep clean when needed.
We provide the vegetables, and hay but not the pellets - as lots of pigs are used to different kinds of pellets.
We can provide housing, but if you would prefer they stay in their own cage, they are more than welcome to.

The pricing will depend on how many piggies and the length of their stay.

We had a very successful bonding recently!

George (white rex) was an owner surrender who had recently lost his best friend, so we decided to bond him with Chestnut.
They bonded so easily, but surprisingly Chestnut, who is only 5 months old and half the size of George, is the more dominant one out of the two! (George is 1.5 years old)
These two are now the best of friends and have the absolute funniest personalities ever!!!

Happy Wednesday!!!

These are some of the fruits and vegetables guinea pigs can eat!!

Please keep in mind, all of these should be given in small quantities, rotated throughout the week to give them variety.

All of these foods vary in having high levels of sugar, calcium, Vitamin C, fibre etc, which is why it is important to rotate them.

Too much of certain fruits and vegetables can cause a large variety of different serious health problems, that can end up life threatening in guinea pigs. For example, too much calcium can cause Bladder Stones.

Nala + Cinnamon are ready to be adopted!!

These beautiful bonded ladies are approximately 20 months old (under 2) and are ready to find their forever home!
These girls are the friendliest little piggies, they love all the attention they can get. They will start screaming and running up to the front of the cage as soon as anyone comes in to try and get a snack.
These two were the very first 2 piggies to come into my rescue, a year and a half ago, and were living in a small, store bought cage with at least 15 other males and females. At the time I wasn’t able to rescue them all so I saw the worst shaped ones and decided to rescue them.
They went from living off bread, to living a perfect life with fresh vegetables and cuddles everyday.

Meet Memphis + Mollie!

These two adorable piggies were surrendered to the rescue yesterday, and we have absolutely fallen in love. They are the sweetest little things who love a good head scratch!

• Memphis is a 4 month old Himalayan Rex
• Mollie is a 6 week old Tri-Coloured Texel x Rex (with one blue eye!!!)

Hello Everyone!
My name is Chelsea and I am the owner and founder of CC’s Care + Rescue.

CC’s Care + Rescue is a small, Birkdale (4159) based, non-profit Guinea Pig Rescue and Sanctuary.

We offer services from rescuing sick/malnourished pigs, pregnant females, babies without mothers, owner surrenders, nail clips, and grooming, as well as short-term boarding (up to 15 days).

Just a little bit about me: I have owned my own guinea pigs for over 12 years and last year decided to start rescuing. Of course I fell in love with them and had to keep them🤭
Since then, I have been taking on different sized herds of all different needs and breeds. I have had babies born, bumble foot, ringworm, mange/mites, 4x a day Critical Care Feeds, lots of vet visits, etc. and thankfully, lots of piggies finally figure out what love feels like and find their forever home!! (Approved homes only) I absolutely love seeing rescued pigs come out of their shell and begin to feel comfortable!!
All of my piggies have 24/7 access to hay, (either timothy, grassy or oaten, I try to switch it up), 1/8 cup of high quality pellets every morning as well as a huge variety of vegetables for their dinner (of course with a sneaky treat or two throughout the day🤭), and at least 30-45minutes of grass time everyday (weather depending). And most importantly, a LOT of cuddles!!!

Any donations would be greatly appreciated as I am running this small rescue by myself and finances can become a little tight at times.
