Equine Muscle. Motion. Performance

At an early age I began riding competitively in New Zealand by the time I was 13 I had competed successfully at a national level in Dressage, Eventing, Show Hunter and Show Jumping. My preference after this was Show Hunter and Show Jumping and I competed very successfully in both until I was 18. Throughout this time I would spend time with my mother an exceptional Physiotherapist who began treating horses aside from her successful practice due to my time-consuming sport. I learnt an enormous amount from her and still continue to do so. All of the time spent with her be it on humans or horses lay a very strong foundation for my learning and practices today.

From there I turned to the Thoroughbred industry and began my career part-time at the esteemed Cambridge Stud coupled with my university studies. I went on to further studies and qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 2006 and then moved to Lexington, Kentucky to work at the world leading Kentucky Equine Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Center (KESMARC) where I further developed my passion and skills in Equine Therapy, rehabilitation, and Hyperbaric Veterinary Medicine learning from the best specialists in the veterinary world. I was in the care of the best Thoroughbred athletes in the northern hemisphere, Todd Pletcher, Team Valor and Darley to name some of the trainers and owners who utilized this facility.

I returned to New Zealand and worked as a Foaling Manager for a big successful Thoroughbred Stud and continued my practical Manual Therapy education during this time. once again I moved across an ocean or in this case, ‘the ditch’ to take my skills to another large Thoroughbred Stud operation where I was the Yearling Manager, again continuing my practical education part-time learning from one of the best equine chiropractors in Australasia over a 4 year period. In 2013 I successfully completed the Diploma in Equine Acupuncture.

2015 saw me move again, this time I was based in California as an Equine Specialist Consultant in Rehabilitation and Hyperbarics, my work also took me to Ireland on several occasions. Throughout this time I had also been practicing part-time for a select group of clients on all types of equine athletes including racehorses, cutters, reining cow horses, eventers, and showjumpers.
