This beauty came in today for a veterinary requested clip. Quite an anxious cat, this little one soon relaxed in our quiet environment. No loud music, no dogs, only one cat being groomed at any time. A little PSA as I keep seeing these recommended on social media by influencers and in groups.

Do you have a furminator?

Throw it in the bin.🗑 🚮

"But I get so much hair out with it"

A furminator is a blade. I've attached a photo of a super short grooming blade next to the furminator blade to compare. The only reason you think it works so well and you get so much hair out is because it's actually cutting your cats coat. It cuts the good hair, the top coat and leaves long lasting damage, you may not notice at first or ever but its definitely doing the damage and your cats coat will begin to get shorter and shorter, becoming more sparse.

I've not once, nor will I ever use a furminator on a clients cat and 100% do not recommend them. They belong in the bin.

We always love a great result. We love to help our rescue groups.

A huge part of my rescue volunteering is cats 😻
We’ve partnered up with 4 PetStock stores around Canberra and also re-home through the Whisker Woods Cattery too.
Trust me, it’s a lot of work… along with rescuing and caring for farm animals and wildlife and somehow I manage to work a full time job too, which is needed to keep the place running financially.
However photos like this make all the hard work worth it.
Mr Grumbles had been in the pound for months with no interest. I met him at the Queanbeyan pound and the staff went out of their way to get him desexed and into care with us 💕
Once with us he then had a spa day with Ava & Archer Cat Grooming Boutique who were so lovely and gentle with him, then he was up for adoption at Petstock Queanbeyan.
Here he is now, in his forever home with the most lovely paw parents and living his best life 😻

Please bring in your cats for grooming prior to matting to avoid this problem. A regular grooming routine every 8 to 10 weeks will prevent any matting occurring. Severe matting doesn't appear in 2 or 3 weeks.

Welcome to The Canine Campus.
We are a indoor, for hire, dog training facility located in Hume, ACT.
187 sqm of space for all things dog training!

Our mission is to create a safe, indoor, purpose built space for professional dog trainers, dog sport clubs, and dog training enthusiasts to hire for their classes, one on one sessions, club training sessions or social events for good dog loving folk.

With 50 sqm of rubber matting and 9 metres of mirrored wall, it’s perfect for precision obedience.

We plan to build our equipment library to include a slat mill, electric treadmill, Fit Paws body conditioning equipment, hurdles, cavaletti’s, place boards and plenty of toys and puzzles for you to try out for you and your dogs.

Alongside the space for hire, we will be hosting professionals from all areas of our dog industry in a calendar of seminars and workshops throughout the year, for accessible opportunities for professional development for all our fellow industry professionals!

The Birman Cat Club of Canberra annual show on Sunday 21st May at the Weston Community Hub, cnr Hildert & Gritten St Weston from 10am public gold coin entry.

This beautiful retiring Birman will be on show and will be available for adoption by Birali Birmans. Come along and meet Alison Moore to learn more about her.
