The Walk-in Aviary is a 1000 square metre planted bird aviary located in Gold Creek Village in Nicholls ACT. Visitors to the aviary walk amongst more than 550 birds representing 57 different species from Australia and around the world. Upon admission visitors are give a small plate of food to feed the birds. Some (not all) will come and land on you and take the offered food.

Canberra Day is right around the corner and we are hosting a Dogs Day Out on the 11th of March!! It will be $5 entry for both dogs and humans. Bookings are essential for dogs as numbers are limited. Entry fee proceeds will go to Raw Potential and Canberra Guide Dogs.

Sunkist joined us at the Aviary a couple of months ago 😊🦜 He / she (gender currently unknown) is a pied Rainbow Lorikeet and such a character! 🧡💛 Loves to dance, so say hi and whistle a tune on your way in / out. 🙃 Fave at the moment is the Ants go marching 🐜

Whilst the aviary is closed to the public we are still feeding and maintaining our collection of birds Nature is still taking it's course and these are some of the new additions making a mess on the freshly raked path We thank everyone for their continued support and look forward to being able to open soon

From the incessant cooing of pigeons to the sweet trill of the canary... the sounds of Australian birds are unique and beautiful.

We're not even halfway through the school holidays! There's plenty of time to make a visit, especially as we're open from 10am every day!
