Came back to work early to care for Ari 💕 He's a bit of a special case, because he's a very timid cat and I didn't want him and his mum to have to go through the hassle of finding and getting to know someone new! Ari and I connected straight away the first time we met, and I've looked after him many times since. Each time, the bond becomes a little bit stronger. He's such a handsome boy and I feel very privileged to be able to care for him

However, due to our baby Leni being so young, we are only taking pre-existing clients for now. But don't worry, we will be opening our books to new clients in a couple of months.

I know this isn't animal related, and I never share things like this (I probably should!), but this is my close friend and her family and she has been through so much bad luck in her young life that it's just not fair. Now they are going through the hardest time with her partner's health and need to raise so much money to get the treatment and help they need. These are the nicest, most generous and selfless people I know, and they never ask for help. But, this time they have no other option. They NEED your help, even if it's just a couple of dollars. The time has finally come for me to be on Maternity Leave. And luckily so, as I had a very rare, pre-term occurrence with the baby and have been in and out of hospital all week! (We are fine, though, just require constant monitoring and an induction soon if she doesn’t appear of her own accord).

I am VERY acutely aware of the huge build up of pet sitting enquiries and am starting to get back to everyone today 😅. Please have patience with me - life has been a roller coaster the last few weeks - and I am the only one still doing all of the admin (messages, bills, social media, bookings etc.).

Even though I am no longer pet sitting right now, the amazing Xandria is conducting once or twice daily house visits in my stead. Including looking after my own babies whilst I’m in hospital! So please don’t hesitate to contact us with enquiries relating to house visits.

Unfortunately, we will not be able to cater to dog boarding or anything else for the next few months. I do hope to get back to it as soon as possible, but will make an announcement when this is the case. In the meantime, I have some fantastic recommendations of who to use instead (and who to avoid!), so please feel free to message and ask for that list.

I will miss you all and your pets SO MUCH during this time, and I know it won’t be long until I’m back at it because of this. Please take care and I hope to see you again soon!

Hi all!

Boarding dog Scout wants you to all be aware of some changes happening here at PPS ☺️

1) Whilst I will be away these holiday and was originally going to have to shut the business down, my lovely dog daycare employee, Xandria, will now be conducting once and/or twice daily visits in my stead. She is attaining dog training qualifications and has vast experience in caring for all manner of animals - including horses and reptiles - as well as her own dogs and cats! I trust her with my own animals, which is the highest possible praise I can give someone 😅. So, if you’re still in need of pet sitting these holidays, please send us a message!

She will also be conducting these visits at any other time when I’m unable to, including when I’m on maternity leave next year.

2) We are having to raise our prices due to the exclusivity of our services and the unfortunate ever-increasing costs of running a small business (fuel, insurance, wages etc.). Our new prices can be found under the ‘Services’ tab on our page. If you have any questions or would like a quote, please do not hesitate to reach out. These new prices take effect as of today, however we will be honouring all bookings already confirmed at the previous prices.

3) As I will be having a baby next year, we have had to unfortunately turn our wonderful cat boarding room into the nursery, and, as such, can no longer provide cat boarding services. This is devastating to me, as I absolutely adored having your cats live with us! Luckily, we can still visit them at your home, or else we have some wonderful recommendations for other catteries in the area 🐈

So excited to announce we are doing Christmas Photos with the amazing Ina J Photography again this year at Capital Paws Daycare!

This time we will be doing them over two days - Wednesday December 6th and Thursday December 7th - after daycare hours. The 6th will be using the snow themed backdrop from last year, whilst the 7th will be using a new backdrop 🎁

The sessions will be longer than last time at 15 minutes each, and, as such, will be more expensive at $110 inc. GST. This is still great value for a photoshoot with Ina (worth approximately $275) and you will receive 2 professionally taken and edited images of your precious pups!

Finally able to let the cat out of the bag! 🥰

We are so happy and so excited, however this does mean I will be taking some months off around May next year for my maternity leave. My plan is to get back to work as soon as possible though - I will miss all of your animals too much!

Our beautiful boarding cat, Rosie, absolutely loved her time out in our large and secure cat run this morning. She then helped me prune the catnip and subsequently ended up a bit…crazy…🤪 (a video of said crazy antics will be in our stories!)

Canberra Cat Fest was so much fun! We absolutely loved meeting everyone who came over for a chat about pet sitting, not to mention giving countless pats and cuddles to ‘s adoptable cats and kittens 🐱 I tried hard to convince Ben to let me bring Patches home with us, but alas he steadfastly refused 🥺💔😭

Max goes home on Monday and we are going to miss him so much! He’s been with us for 6 weeks all up and has certainly cemented himself as part of the family, despite the high maintenance involved with his age and various medical conditions/medications, and despite scaring me half to death at one point when he decided to have a severe hypoglycaemic episode and I had to rush him to the vet, where he stayed for 3 days!
He has wiggled his way into my heart for eternity, with his adorable smile and ever-cheerful attitude to everything that’s thrown at him ❤️ What a special little man he is, and what an honour to have cared for him.

Little Max is here for an extended stay, and requires lots of medications (insulin injections, eye drops, tablets, oral liquids etc.) morning and night for a range of health issues. But look how happy he is!!! 🥹

Happy International Women’s Day!

I am so proud of all of the women in my life who every single day continue to achieve their goals in life and pave their own way to success and happiness ❤️

I don’t normally say things like this - if ever - but I’m actually really proud of myself too. This is the face behind the business. This is me. Pip. I have worked tirelessly on this little business of mine, by myself, for years and years, and to have it become one of the most popular and successful pet sitting businesses in the area is a feeling I really cannot explain 🥹 I not only do all of the pet sitting, I also do all of the social media, admin, financials, and everything else that goes on behind the scenes. That is on top of being the mother to 7 amazing fur babies and maintaining a happy marriage, family, and friendships.

I have overcome SO many hurdles and challenges along the way but I always manage to bounce back bigger and better. I even have a new little child business, the daycare, that is already doing better than I would have expected even though that is also JUST ME. It has all cost me so much financially, physically, and mentally, but I am still here. And I am PROUD of myself.

So here’s to women making waves and getting it done 💪 Pat yourselves on the back tonight and take a look at all you’ve achieved in your life; whether it be raising your (fur) children, starting a business, getting that promotion, travelling to your bucket list destinations, or even just simply doing the things that make you happy. You are all amazing.
