Horse trail rides on Queensland's Darling Downs at Emu Creek, just a short 20 minutes north of Crows Nest via Toowoomba. In comfortable western saddles, you will have a relaxing ride through a working cattle property. Our trails will take you through picturesque country where wallabies, wild deer and native bird life thrive. From rolling hills you will witness magnificent views of surrounding moun

tains and farmland. Your hosts, Peter and Gill Gould have over 30 years experience in the western horse industry training and breeding Quarter Horses. Peter is a ‘trainer to the stars’ having worked on several films including ‘Australia’. Peter is a great teacher specialising in beginners and people who haven’t ridden for a long time

Our hearts are broken today with our beautiful Henry crossing the Rainbow Bridge this morning. For 11 years he was my shadow, the welcoming committee for and the bestest boy. We will miss his happy nature and demands for ear scratches. He loved life and our farm was like Doggy Disneyland where he ran and swam and sniffed smells and rolled in stinky stuff. Rest easy Henry, aka Big Dog, aka Henryberry 🤎 🤍

Another adventure for us is coming up. On 1 October we’re off to Iceland ‘the land of fire & ice’ and Icelandic horses. We will also be exploring Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Estonia and Norway. We will be closed from 30 September to 9 November. We still have plenty of availability for September especially during the school holidays so you can get your horse fix before we go. (Note these pics aren’t ours but we certainly will update you all as we go through our travels)

We have a new arrival Welcome to Gigi’s new baby girl born last night. She’s super cute and she’s exceptionally well bred with Gigi being a champion reining horse and the foal’s sire being the highest scoring reining horse in Australia ‘Lil Nu It All’

IT’S MUSTER TIME!
🐴🐂 Winter is the perfect time for riding and moving the cattle. Bring out your inner Cowboy/Cowgirl – our muster brings in our Angus cattle into the yards on horseback and handling the cattle in the yards before returning them to a new paddock.
To allow more people to experience this wonderful, unique event for the August 16/17/18 we are having a 4 hour muster each day.
Friday 16/8 commencement time 1 pm
Saturday 17/8 commencement time 9 am
Sunday 18/8 commencement time 9 am
Muster includes lunch Sat/Sun and early dinner Friday, and water/soft drink/tea/coffee.
Cost $440 pp maximum number of riders 4 per ride. Minimum age 12 years. Maximum weight 100kg

A wonderful ride with some of our regular riders yesterday to celebrate our 15th birthday. These ladies have been riding with us for years and we consider them as friends and enjoy our shared love of horses. Peter and I designed an ‘Adventure Treasure Hunt’ which tested their knowledge of the property. Peter included his Dad jokes for extra fun. A bag of lollies attached to one of the clues kept the sugar levels high 😉 Thanks to all our wonderful regulars for your continued support and friendship (including the ones who couldn’t make it yesterday-we missed you)

Our granddaughter Layla finished Grade 6 yesterday so her dad (our son Chris) and her friend’s dad decided to surprise them by picking them both up from school on horses and riding home. Farm life. For those who wonder what we do when we’re not riding- farm maintenance! The lovely rain has unfortunate consequences of weed growth and one of the worst is lantana, it’s invasive and toxic to cattle so we have to poison it regularly. The upside is that we get to walk over the property and believe it or not enjoy our space.
