Last night in Australia... the kids are settling in in our apartment at Quest Midland. Tomorrow last vet checks in the morning for the export permits, then hang around Perth all day (I've got a rental Kia suv) before dropping the dogs off at 8.00pm at the airport. More hanging around for me as I'm flying at 02.10am. Gonna be a long day!!

After running Dutchfield Dog Training full time for the last 12 years, I feel it is time for a new chapter in my life. I have sold my house in Donnybrook, and my 3 dogs and I are moving to Thailand in September! The plan is to stay for a year, maybe longer depending on how we like living in Chiang Mai. If/when we're back in Australia, we might start classes again! I want to thank the thousands of students over the years for training with Dutchfield, I have learned as much from you as hopefully you from my teachings! Becky (Skye, Ceska and Ivy).

Devastated having to say goodbye to Tess yesterday. After suffering a stroke it was your time. You've been such an amazing dog, I couldn't have wished for a better companion these last 14 years, always helping out in class as a demo dog and you loved performing in doggy dance too. I'm taking a few weeks leave in May to travel around our beautiful state with my 4 dogs and the camper trailer. I haven't scheduled any new Dutchfield courses for April as they won't be finished when I go on annual leave. I will be planning new courses when I'm back from holidays. NEW Rally-Obedience course starting in Bunbury this Wednesday 1 February at 6.10pm to 6.40pm.
In Rally, a dog and their handler move together through a course made up of 10-20 signs. Each sign displays a skill to perform such as turns or behaviors like sit, down, or stay. The dog and handler work together and should show a sense of teamwork and enthusiasm throughout the course.

The course is 6 lessons of half an hour as it takes a lot of focus and concentration from dog and handler! The course is $75.00. Please let Becky know if you would like to enroll: [email protected]

NEW Basic Obedience courses starting:
- Donnybrook, Saturday 14 January at 5.00pm
- Bunbury, Saturday 28 January at 11:00am
- Bunbury, Wednesday 1 February at 5.00pm

In our Basic Obedience course you will learn how to teach your dog all the basic obedience commands like sit, down, stay, walk without pulling, wait for the door, heel, come and leave it (food), no jumping on people, focus on the handler and you'll also learn how dogs act in a pack or in this case your family, and how you can become a natural leader in your dog's eyes, thus preventing behavior problems later on!

We also have an introduction into agility in this course, the fun things like going through the tunnel, weave and tyre! We're training with the positive/reward-based methods.

The classes are small, 6 - 12 dogs in one class. The course is 6 lessons of 55 minutes, and costs $ 160.00 (per dog/handler), no membership or registration fee.

We are starting a new Obedience Plus (OP) course in Donnybrook on Saturday 14 January at 4:00pm! This course is perfect for people who wish to continue in dog obedience training after finishing the Basic Obedience course or a similar level of obedience training.
