☃️WINTER ADULT RIDER CLINICS ☃️

🩰 Dressage 13 July 🩰
Ridden work will cover paces, transitions and effective use of the aids. You will learn how to improve your communication with your horse and how to correctly ride the test movements. Unmounted sessions will cover dressage rules for competition, explanation of test levels and requirements, how to learn a dressage test, the judge's perspective, scale of marks and calling, pencilling and judging practice.

👠 Polework 14 July 👠
In the poles sessions we will use ground poles to improve the horses' balance, suppleness, coordination, rhythm and reactions to the aids. The exercises are fun for horse and rider and great for improving rider coordination and focus. Poles exercises help riders concentrate on their spatial awareness, judgement of distance, steering, as well as proprioception for the horses.

Both clinics, are suitable for Novice and Intermediate riders welcome to bring their own horse or ride one of ours.

🌂🏏💣🎈🎉🎊📢🛒 Introduction to Arena Obstacles with Darryn Gilham 🌂🏏💣🎈🎉🎊📢🛒

Suitable for Novice and above riders, with their own or our horses.
An expert in Extreme Cowboy Racing, Darryn has many years’ experience training horses. The aim of this clinic is to learn about the horse's flight behaviour, as they will be exposed to tarps, balloons, balls, swinging sticks, pool noodles, water, and more, in a mix of mounted and unmounted sessions. Darryn will illustrate the importance and the process of desensitization, and how we can all achieve a happier and more confident horse.

This is a one-day clinic with limited places.

A big shout out to Penny and Jesse!
Penny has been riding with us for about two years, and leased Fifi before moving onto Jesse. This wonderful combination took up the challenge to participate in an online dressage competition, their first ever tests outside of our training days.
We are incredibly proud of their progress, following significant training and preparation, perfect presentation, and videoing for the judge.
We encourage all our lease clients to “get in front of the judge”, whether this inhouse, virtually or during suitable outings.

1. Don't annoy the horse
2. Ride the horse you are on and not the one you think you are on
3. When something does not work... Stop doing it
4. With a horse, like in dating... Consent is required
5. If the horse does not want to be with you, there is a reason
6. The more you know, the gentler you are
7. Horses do not wear wrist watches and as a result, they always have time
8. Intelligent action always brings intelligent reactions. If not, it's you and not the horse
9. It is not the bit which is the problem... It is the hand operating it

😢🐴Vale Fifi (Tyrooki Star Dreamer) 😢🐴

We are devastated to let our wonderful clients know that we lost a true super star at Zia Park Equestrian Centre yesterday.
Gentle Fifi had a heart of gold, was reliable, talented and a dream horse for a riding school. Fifi was one of Debbie Greenwood's show jumpers before she came to us. She was so well trained that it was a pleasure to coach riders of any level on her. Her versatility and gentle nature made her a safe and reliable ride even for nervous beginners in the arenas and on the trails.
Fifi sadly had a paddock accident and despite all efforts her injuries were too severe. Goodbye beautiful girl, we loved every day you were part of our lives.
If any of our friends and clients have photos and memories of Fifi, please add them in comments so we can all share our memories of this wonderful horse.

😄🐴🎶The hills are alive with ponies jumping 😄🐴🎶

Six of our students and staff had a wonderful time at Hills Showjumping Association, including four of our riding school ponies who are leased to their keen young riders. They all jumped courses from 50cm to 80cm in the bottom ring and came home with big smiles on their faces. Well done to Josh on Buddy, Maisie on Opal, Sophie on Huey and Olivia on Asha.
In the top ring, Ellie competed on her super mare Lulu, and Remy on her gorgeous new giant, Callum. Well done everyone.
Hills Showjumping Association was started many years ago by the Crowe family, who have continued to run this popular event regularly at the Parkerville Equestrian Centre It caters for riders of all levels and ages in a highly supportive environment and offers show jumping enthusiasts the opportunity to practice and compete over well constructed courses.
We are so grateful for the time and effort that the association and its helpers put in to run this event and already look forward to our next visit.

🚦🏡🏝 We are back again! Trail Riding Clinic – 6 March 🚦🏡🏝
Following the huge success of our recent Trail Riding clinic we are absolutely delighted to invite you on the WA Public Holiday, Monday, 6 March.
This clinic will cover safety and etiquette on the trail, as well as horse(wo)manship pre, during and post ride.
In the first session we will work on techniques to improve you and your horse's confidence approaching objects and scenarios you might come across on a trail ride while you will also learn how to safely ride on roads.
In our second session, we will go on an escorted ride through dense bushland, along tranquil bridle paths, navigating mobs of kangaroos and for the more adventurous combinations to our adjacent reserves and lakes.
Please note: Horses and riders who have not been to Zia Park must meet minimum eligibility criteria for this clinic, which are noted on the booking information.

🌳🐴🍄Trail Riding clinic – a walk in the park? 🌳🐴🍄
We had an absolute fantastic time this summer with our trail riding clinics. Many of our participants learned that its not just a walk in the park to safely steer your horse in a large group, over undulating hills, and busy road crossings.
We navigated through dense bushland, along tranquil bridle paths, through mobs of kangaroos and even took a dip into our local lake.
Everyone had such a great time, we will be hosting more of these days in the future.

🤩🐴🚀JumpX Training Day – simply the best! 🤩🐴🚀

We had an absolute wonderful day with many of our junior and adult riders competing in our in-house JumpX day. The courses were set with many obstacles and required our combinations to tackle show jumps before galloping into our cross country course over logs and through water – they even had to navigate a gate.

Our training days are fully supported by our coaching staff and all of them were on their heels to follow the progress of their students.

Thank you to the parents, partners and general support crews.

What an absolute blast of a day.

⛳️🎯🪘Games, games, games galore! ⛳️🎯🪘
Eight enthusiastic young riders and their awesome ponies had the time of their lives last week in our mounted games school holiday program.
Coached by WA State Games Team rider Ellie and our marvellous Klara, these young riders practiced everything from basic horse control skills to the fast and fiery flag and bending races.
There was plenty of time to learn the rules and discover that teamwork makes the dream (games) work.
Great gaming everyone.
