The milk bar is open, we are doing so well at 3 weeks and 1 day.
Eclipse is standing and learning to walk. Her siblings are a little further along with this skill but being the runt of the litter is hard work. Please excuse the feet. She is three weeks in this video.
Eclipse is getting an exclusive feed. Being the runt of the litter her siblings have become accustomed to pushing her out the way and she is missing out. Letting her get in first helps make sure she is eating enough.
Little Eclipse 3 weeks and 1 day old. Super tiny and cute. Learning to groom herself 😍😍😍
Next problem, babies are struggling to latch on and eat. 2 of them have got it, now for the last 2 - Learning is hard 🎓
Update: After a few hours of trying, all babies are now eating and doing well 😸 Now to think of names. I really wanted to do galaxy names to match mums but now I'm thinking maybe Easter related? Stay tuned.

At approx 11.03 am no. 4 was born.
That is a placenta, every kitten is born with one. Mum usually eats it. In this case Mum only ate 1 placenta the rest was binned.
We believe this is her first litter as mum was a little unsure of what to do. So with vet instruction I've had to step in for 3 of them. After birth, mums are suppose to break the amniotic sac and lick the babies faces (to clear mucas) and bodies to stimulate breathing and clean them up. Mum didn't do this as she was busy cleaning herself, the birthing bed and the kittens bodies. I've used a cloth to wipe their little faces and bodies. I also had to cut the cords of two as she didn't do it. To cut the cord you must tie dental floss tightly around the cord about 1/2 an inch from the kittens belly and then cut the cord between the placenta and floss - this is to stop the blood flow. When cats cut t it themselves the force from mums teeth is enough to stop bleeding.
