Thanks to those who have been in contact asking me to clip your horses, the support has been amazing! I was planning on starting clipping Monday-Friday from March. It’s May and I’m still waiting for a childcare spot for my baby before I can start working. As soon as she gets into daycare I’ll be clipping, and I’ll update on here when that happens.

The services I’ll be providing:
- Range of clips, all finished with a nice hot oil treatment
- Manes and tails (shortening, hogging, tidying, washing, detangling, stain treatment, plaiting)
- Tack cleaning
- Exercising horses
Happy to discuss any other equine service you might need. Please feel free to contact me with any questions

My first customer was a dear old pony, almost 40 years old, no teeth and one eye! His amazing owner is managing to keep him so happy and healthy despite his struggles. Just look at that beautiful shine hiding away under his thick cushings coat! It was a pleasure to clip him today ❤️

Our Donkey looks very cute, but he’s a typical difficult donkey - he was difficult, strong willed and stubborn until the end! He’s very lucky I have a lot of patience 😂

I wish I got a video of him leaping for joy feeling fresh with his new clip when I let him go - he is a very happy boy!

It was definitely worth all the effort it took to get this clip done. (He’s mine so I can be very honest about how difficult he can be to do absolutely anything he doesn’t want to do)

Meet Thimble!

Thimble is an older pony who I have on long term lease. He used to do lessons and pony rides for my tiny riders, now he’s enjoying retirement being one of the farm favourites.

Thimble had a very long, thick and dirty coat, and with greys being notorious for leaving clipper lines if not prepared for clipping properly, he was perfect to demonstrate how to prepare your horse for clipping!

Making sure your horse is thoroughly clean and dry before clipping is essential if you want to achieve a quality clip. Dirty coats blunt clipper blades in as little as one stroke of the clippers! To avoid a fee for blunting blades, and risking clipper lines, as well as snagging hairs and making your horse unhappy and uncomfortable, make sure your horse is given a good scrubbing wash, and allowed time to dry thoroughly before clipping.

Thimble is such a good boy I was able to speed up the drying process by hair drying his thick coat 😂 he was all too happy to eat grass while I did this.

Hi everyone! I’m glad you have found my new business page 😁

For those who don’t know me, here’s a little about myself.

My name is Louise, I am 31 years old, I am blessed with three wonderful children, and my parents own and run the Goolwa Animal Farm.

I emigrated here from England 10 years ago. I started giving horse riding lessons on my parents farm, thoroughly enjoyed doing that for a year before I started riding trackwork and spent the next few years doing a jockey apprenticeship, deciding that wasn’t for me due to struggling with my weight, then riding trackwork, doing strapping and stablehand work, and eventually reluctantly leaving the racing industry to find a career where I could spend more time with my family. After doing some house painting, having a baby, and taking some time off work, I have been preparing to start my own clipping business!

I will be enjoying lots of time with my 4 month old baby, so only taking on a few full clips for the older horses and ponies who struggle to lose their coats to begin with, then in March I will be clipping Monday-Friday while my kids are at school and my baby is in childcare.
