Meet Luca, Sunny and Funky. Three French bulldogs from separate families who all came in on the same day, all with eye ulcers. They each required a general anaesthetic and gentle surgery to the surface of the eye to allow the cornea to heal.
Due to the conformation (shape) of brachycephalic dogs faces, their eyes often protrude out of their face and sometimes their eyelids are too small to cover the eye. This conformation makes it more likely for the eye to become dry, and therefore develop ulcers.
All 3 of these cuties are recovering nicely.
We have had a gorgeous female beagle brought into our clinic tonight, found in Ravenswood.
Microchipped but unfortunately details are not up-to-date.
