Gorgeous Halo is 10 years old and just magnificent! She continues to be an absolute pleasure to be around and REALLY loves her treats!!

It's that time of year again...

As 2024 comes to a close and festivities are on the horizon, the team at Pets Life wish you all a very happy Christmas and happy New Year!

May it be filled with love, happiness and the chance to make memories with your cherished pets! 🥰

It has been another incredibly busy year at PL. Once again we have loved and lost some beautiful patients. They will never be forgotten... 💔 but we have also made many new memories and incredibly happy stories.

I want to always take this chance to thank my team for everything they do. I will never be able to give them enough thanks for the care they show, each and every day.

It is with this in mind that we acknowledge the work they do, in front and behind the scenes.
I cannot stress enough, how hard they all work.

I always ask for kindness towards my staff and understanding that they are working for our patients and owners best interests, always.

As we make our way into 2025, we will continue to provide a service and level of care that we can be proud of. We do it because we truly care and love what we do.

Thank you for all of the love you show us, the beautiful gifts and your understanding towards us.
It means so much.

Myself and my team had a little down time to celebrate Christmas! There were a small number of people missing but we had them there in spirit! 😊

A lovely cruise along the Tamar with some lovely food.

A time to appreciate these wonderful ladies who work so hard and care for all of our wonderful patients like their own. A true team that care for one another and are a pleasure to work alongside.

Thanks to Lauren, my right hand women for getting this all organised! Such a beautiful evening.

I am one very proud and lucky lady! 🥰

Meet the very handsome Frank! This little legend visited us recently to have a lump removed from his leg.

Frank has made a fantastic recovery and all healed! However, during his recovery journey, his mum very kindly sent us these very sweet pictures of this dear older boy. Unfortunately the dreaded cone of shame had to be used and Frank's mum found him day dreaming of his freedom!! 😂

Much to Frank's delight, his wonderful mum switched him to a soft buster collar which made the man much happier! 🥰

Soft inflatable collars, like the one you see here are sometimes a fantastic alternative for some patients if they will tolerate it.

Let's show the delightful Frank some love! He is back to living his best life! 😍

!Some important AFTERHOURS information!

From 20th November to 11 December 2024, I am unable to offer an afterhours service during the week (Mon-Thurs).

I am so sorry for this inconvenience, but I will be taking a much-needed break from my work to visit my family and friends.

As I personally cover all our afterhours work every week, I am sure you may understand that I do need to take a break now and again.

It is very important that you consider alternative arrangements during this time. Below is a list of important contacts during this time:

VETCHAT - on call phone service for advice continues to run as normal for Pets Life. This is our usual on-call phone service where you can speak to a vet to obtain advice anytime of the night.

Animal Emergency Hospital Launceston - available 24hrs, Fri 5pm until Mon 8am - based at 207 Hobart Road, Kings Meadows.

Animal Emergency Service - this is a 24/7 emergency hospital based in Hobart. This is available to anyone in Tasmania and offers an emergency service day and night, 7 days per week.

Once again, I greatly appreciate your understanding and look forward to seeing you all again upon my return.

Today was a day to have a little celebration! It is with such great excitement that we celebrate our wonderful nurse, Haylee Challis passing her final assessments to complete her Cert IV nursing certificate! Haylee shows so much dedication to her job and her patients but the overwhelming amount of work that she has put into her studies to get it all done and dusted has been amazing!

Well done, Haylee! You deserve this so much! 🥰

I was also treated to a beautiful surprise and impromptu early birthday celebration for my 40th!! A truly beautiful cake created by one of my other wonderful nurses, Bec Corkill. What a true skill she has! All my beautiful dogs at the front and Dr Olivia's cat clawing her way up the back of the cake!!

Our days are often busy and can be emotional or stressful at times. These moments really count, and it is lovely to be surrounded by a very talented and superb team.

Please show my wonderful ladies the love! They work so hard and care so much for all our beautiful patients! 🥰😍👏

A little alert to let you know that we have seen a lovely dog who had an altercation with a Tiger snake today.

Thankfully our lovely patient is fine but worth considering that snakes are around.

Meet the wonderful Jimmy!!! This beautiful boy has been a patient for a long time now and is always such a delight to be around!

Jimmy underwent some pretty significant surgery lately to deal with a recurring benign mass on his foot that just kept growing.

After much discussion and the surgical expertise from Dr Gary, it was decided we would pursue more surgery to try and finally get rid of the mass.

Dr Gary worked his magic and our beautiful Jimmy has recovered so well. As ever, he just took it all in his stride!

Jimmy, we love you and we are so happy to see you comfortable and loving life with your cheeky younger brother, Bruce!!! 🤣🤣🥰🥰

!!Casual Vet Nurse Position Available!! Small Animal – Launceston, Tasmania

We are looking for a qualified veterinary nurse to join our growing team. Pets Life Vet Care opened its doors in 2017 and has continued to grow beyond expectation.

Located in beautiful Launceston, Tasmania, our unique, well equipped clinic is home to a truly lovely team.

Our workload is varied, comprising consultations, emergency work and an interesting surgical case load too.

A very small amount of afterhours work might be required (this is minimal); and calls are monitored by a third party before the veterinarian is contacted.

Hours are likely to start at two days per week with the view to take on more hours depending on workload and the need for covering holidays etc. Some Saturday morning work is also required.

I would love the chance to discuss with somebody who feels this is the position for them. Our current nursing team encompasses a huge amount of experience from trainees to fully qualified nurses who have been within the profession for many years and have huge amounts to offer to any new addition to our team.

All we ask is that patient care is always to the highest standard and our clients are also cared for. We pride ourselves on this.
