We would like to thank Paul Laycock for delivering High Country Miller this morning 🙂 High Country Miller is a quality addition to our ever growing herd and looking forward to seeing his progeny next year.

Ventured to the Droughtmaster National Female Sale yesterday and were lucky enough to come home with 2 fantastic heifers. Thanks to Locarno Droughtmasters for lot 146 Shona, and Nindethana Droughtmasters for lot 152 Oleander. Both wonderful additions to our herd.

Finally had a couple days of fine weather and had some silage baled. Hopefully the weather holds up and we will be able to get the rest of the flats baled.

Our Nindethana Droughtmasters heifer Nemesia, sired by Rondel Whiskey gave birth to a healthy bull calf today. He is sired by Rangeview Droughtmasters Brax. True to form a small birth weight which all Brax calves have been. Definitely excited to see how this little fella turns out.

The sorghum is definitely loving the rain and these nice hot days. Nearly ready to bail as soon as the ground is dry enough.

Time to test out the new tractor and speed discs. Hopefully get the paddocks planted before we get the rain.

Apparently the grass is greener on the other side of the fence. The herd wasn't impressed that I didn't let them on the oats today. Certainly happy that we invested in the irrigation.

The herd are definitely enjoying their round bale today. Can't wait for the oats and barley to be ready for the herd. Starting to get a little dry.

Had our new silo delivered. Been a few delays but it's finally here. The weaners will certainly be happy.

So very happy that our irrigation system has been completed. It's taken a while but it's all up and running. Will have 80 acres that'll be able to be irrigated. Cows will definitely enjoy their winter crop of oats this year. Can't wait to start ploughing for the summer.
