There was a report on another Griffon site of a Griffon being found in Midvale. This Griffon has now been reunited with his family. Fortunately the breeder was contacted as the microchip details had not been transferred to the new owner and they were able to contact the owner. Please ensure that your pets microchip details are up to date to ensure that you are notified if one escapes!

The 2024 Calendar has gone to print and will be ready next week!

If you have pre-ordered please deposit your payment of $25 per calendar to the below account. The calendars can be collected at the 29th Oct Griffon Playdate or they can be posted. Postage is $6.50 per envelope that holds up to 2 calendars. (Our apologies, we previously advised $3.20 postage but discovered that it didn't cover costs)

For those who don't already know, this year 7 to 1 Photography with Kelly Pilgrim-Byrne has been photographing Griffons with the aim of producing a 2024 calendar to raise funds for Griffon Rescue and Rehoming WA.

These cuties are Frieda, Sianna and Sesily and this photo was taken at their home. Although the booking system for these sessions does indicate a location, this can be somewhat flexible depending on what suits your Griffon(s) the most.

Now... this is the important bit...

There's only ONE MORE SPOT left - on the 15th July, tentatively at the Rockingham Salt Lakes - which, in winter is absolutely gorgeous, with reflections from water puddles everywhere. Saying this, if you want the last spot, but would like to suggest an alternative location, book the date, and tell me you'd like a different location.

Yesterday, we met up with Sue and Ellie and their gorgeous Griffs, Mini and Max at the Applecross foreshore to capture some images for the Griffon Rescue and Rehoming Calendar (publication next year).

Yesterday we had the first fundraising photoshoot for the Griffon Rescue and Rehoming Calendar, and what a stunner to kick us off!

Not necessarily the image which will be selected for the calendar, but introducing... Odin! He absolutely rocked his photo session in the Bedfordale bush and now his person will have a beautiful high resolution image of her choosing, whilst supporting Griffon Rescue & Rehoming WA and all for just $100!

The investment is $100 which will be donated directly to Griffon Rescue & Rehoming WA to assist Griffons in need. (minus a $2.05 processing fee charged by the secure payment provider).

You will receive the photo session plus a high resolution digital file of of your choosing (doesn't necessarily have to be the one we choose for the calendar). If you wish to view a proof gallery of images from your session for the opportunity to purchase additional images I'm happy to do so.

Here is an update on the beautiful Griffon we were able to rehome a few months ago. Here she is on the right, celebrating her birthday with her new sister. She has settled so well with her new family. She has recently been on a caravanning holiday and living the high life.

Thank you to all those who were concerned about the little Yorkshire Terrier we were rehoming. The great news is that she has settled really well into her new home. She has attached herself to her new Mum and likes to follow her everywhere. We were fortunate to find such a loving home and so happy to hear what joy she is bringing to her new family.

We have had 2 dogs come in through Griffon Rescue in the last 2 weeks. An 8 year old Griffon went into foster care and has now been adopted by that family. She now has a younger Griffon sister and has settled in well.

We now have an 11 year old Yorkshire Terrier in foster care. We are looking for a home where there are no young children. She has had a check up with the vet and she only needed a dental scale and polish which has been done. She is a cheeky, loving little girl who responds to love and cuddles. She will make a lovely companion dog for her new owner. Please message us for further information.

Story Time Takeover with Erik the Book Buddy

Erik the Book Buddy dog needs your help to read some of his favourite stories. Join Erik and his handler in a fun, relaxed session where children get a one-on-one session to read out loud to Erik, and together, they can become confident readers with a love for stories.
Erik will be available for a meet and greet prior to kicking off the one-on-one sessions.

This event is FREE! No tickets needed.

Date & Time: Tuesday, 28th Sept, 9:30am – 12:00pm (20 min story time, followed by one-on-one sessions)

Request for donations to support our ongoing work.

Latest update.

Earlier this year, Griffon Rescue and Rehoming WA were advised that there were two young Griffon girls being advertised on Gumtree. Contact was made with the family who at that time, due to no fault of their own, were about to become homeless. There is currently a housing shortage after COVID.

The Griffons were about 18 months old and not sterilised. Our concern was that these 2 Griffons could end up in a puppy farm, thus our intervention.

A price was negotiated for the 2 girls. We assured the family that the 2 girls would be kept together when we found them a new home. They sadly surrendered the Griffons to our care.

Since then the two girls have been assessed, vaccinated, sterilised, health checked and one treated for an ear infection. They are together, doing really well and receiving lots of love from their new adopting family.

We are now asking for donations to help cover some of the outstanding costs incurred.
