Job to do before shearing season ticked off ✅️

Yesterday was a big 12 hour round trip in the car inc stops, first stop to deliver 3 of my commercial honeys to their new home in Mornington (perfect home for them 🫶), then onto Willow Grove to pick up Tanti and Pryor from their extended date with some beautiful bulls, and home again by about midnight to let the girls off the trailer 🥱 we're all so happy to be at home today.

These little cows are the bom-diggity, I couldn't be happier with them. They take everything in their stride- nothing's too much of a drama.

Shout Out to Seymour Trailers for their brilliant service hiring me the big Stock Trailer. Such a handy local service and great quality trailers

Maizey our guardian loving her wild rabbit 🥰

As cute as they are, the numbers are starting to climb again- in turn that has a flow on effect taking food from all the other animals like the natives and livestock.

One thing I really dislike is waste and feeding other pests like foxes, so when we cull some rabbits the dogs eat super well and certainly don't complain about it 😍

Storm clouds are by far the best backdrop in Summer.

These 2 little critters are siblings (left '23 and right '22) same parentage. So many similarities yet so different!

Today all my does got moved to the new farm. I don't love that we had to wait till so late in their gestation to move them but hey, thats life. It was a cruisey ride and when I opened the door for them the look of heaven seemed to spring to their faces... It is pretty heavenly here😍

Today i attended a super interesting confrence on gps tags and agriculture software programs. So many cool things available now! So much to ponder and test. Ill be trialing and researching some programs to improve the way i manage the animals and land. Stay tuned...

Pic-
Im not sure that theres anything more peaceful than sitting on the hill after the confrence watching the sheep quietly eating on fresh pasture (& behaving themselves 😂)

Little Mai (pictured), shes growing into such an incredible dog. In the last 2 weeks ive noticed her doofy puppy brain start to drop away and her instincts coming into play. Comparing to our late Ekky-boo who passed away suddenly in October (rescued not purchased as pup) she would be about 10 months ahead in these insticts developing so far, which is huge!
Its interesting to watch her develop and compare experiences.
Mai doesnt love photos lol, she thinks its stupid unlike Soph who loves them 😂

So it seems i have more fencing to do, im still catching up to the shearing season aftermath (thankyou to the million kangaroos trashing more fences i fixed in October).

My 4 cheeky rascals have been taking themselves on an adventure to my lovely neighbors place and will come home in the evening or when i call them for some feed. Fences need to be in pretty bad shape for "normal" alpacas to walk through. The rest of the mob dont go with them, its only my origionals....but arent they adorable!
Ill be off to the fencing shop this week to pick up a big load of wire. On the plus side it means ill be able to rotate the sheep through some more paddocks too. Stay tuned.

She hid baby between the tufts of grass, took us all ages to find in the smallest paddock we have🤣

50% Nigerian dwarf, somehow he's about 3 times the size of the twins born last Sunday 🤣 they are tiny! He will be available as a wether in a couple of months♥️ brings the count to 9 bucklings and 2 does this season 🤯

This week's been a week of curve balls and surprises and Lady has taken it all in her stride. My sweet doe has co-fostered 3 little ones this week, she's an absolute life saver♥️ the 2 bucklings have started drinking more and more from their own mother so aren't needing as much supplimented, but Lambo will need another few weeks of milk. Mother's are just amazing ♥️

I took these 2 cuties to work with me yesterday. Pip still had no milk so in the car they went. They were so well behaved, the best part about it was when we got home after dark Pippy still wanted to try and feed her babies! And there was a little bit of milk there to get them through the night ♥️

Our first 75% Nigerian Dwarf kids were born this afternoon. The first little buckling came with ease but the second little guy needed a hand. He decided to pop his head out for a look without any feet. Aren't they adorable?! Mum's not really got very much milk just yet but wants to feed them. We're currently bottling. Hopefully some will come down soon 🤞

The last of my rescue mob I took on 18 months ago are ready to go to new homes. All up to date with their shots- end of winter care done 2 weeks ago, theyre in fantastic condition and if they go soon will require shearing this season (last done at the end of December). Happy to add to my shearing run if/when I'm in the area.
Fudge, Fern, Willow, Amelia and Gemma will be looking for new pet homes. Dotti, Dinky and an older girl will be available aswell, will upload photos of them too. All empty so no surprise babies now. Gosh these last ones are the hardest to let go of♥️. I learnt so much with this mob and I'm ever so greatful I took them on but it's certainly their turn now.

It's crazy what you see sometimes. I was in the yards giving the alpacas their vitamin shots and doing an all round checkup on them (which I must say I'm very happy with their overall winter condition) a doe and her baby went running through the paddocks to the bush next door ♥️ my staunchest wether waited for them to be in his paddock and pressured them out again.
