Everything is coming up! Corn, zucchini, bush beans, carrots, radishes and I’m about to harvest my biggest artichoke yet! Only had to extract 39 snails this morning so I’m making a dent for sure. It’s a beautiful day in the garden.

Many people have sent me the ad for the subpod in garden composting system. They’re nice (and $300!). They are also really big. I already heap compost and have a worm farm but I like the idea of adding compost right near my plants. So here is my experimental in bed compost system. Made from what I had on hand. The round one is in a new bed with tomato, zucchini, beans and cucumbers. The orange one is an established bed with radishes and carrots. 🤞🏻

It’s a beautiful spring morning. So warm. I have a “pick a radish, plant a radish” system for cycling plant growth. I can’t eat half a beds production. At once and they don’t keep well. We have two or three a day in a salad and then they are always coming.

Good morning pretty Iris!

Super duper happy to have finally found my beloved Bleeding Heart (Dicentra Spectablis) plant in Australia. It loves the shade and has the most beautiful little heart flowers. It’s growing so fast! My Lisbon lemon is getting ready to bloom and some of my bush beans pushed up after our little rain storm. Springtime in the garden ☺️

In the mornings we wake and walk. Then I go to the back yard for some stretching and to check on the garden. It’s such a fun time of year in the garden with changes every day. My Alaska mix nasturtium bloomed this morning and it did not disappoint. The stevia I chopped back in the autumn has returned at the base of my crow. I am hopeful it’s going to be a great season. 🌿

It started with a few pots then two raised beds. Feels like it’s all really coming together. Yesterday I trimmed the low branches off the pine so it won’t catch my hair when I mow the lawn. 6 raised beds in this area (as it gets the most sun) my compost near the fence and my spare soil under the tarp. My trellis has held up well and this year I hope to see it covered in beans and cucumbers.
