Weaves with Karon
Starting this Sunday 7th Jan 9am-10am
Less than a year ago Karon signed up for my Beginner WEAVE class with her dog Cleo. They did their homework each day and by the end of week 2 had a set of 12 weaves poles with nice speed and good accuracy. We spent another couple of weeks getting independence, lateral distance, working different entries and exits and putting them in sequences. By the end of Week 4, Cleo’s weaves and Karon’s understanding were extremely reliable with good speed and all achieved in a ridiculously short period of time. Since completing the course, I have invited Karon to sit in on some weave classes I’ve been teaching so that we could troubleshoot the different challenges that different dogs and handlers present.
A few months ago I started convincing Karon that she should be TEACHING weaves! She just gets it and the things she can now do with Cleo are extremely impressive ❤️.
I would thoroughly recommend anyone who has been putting off teaching weaves to enrol. When things seem hard…learn from someone who finds it simple 🙂

WE HAVE A WINNER! Thank you for everyone who participated. Hope you had fun. Let's see today what else is in our anniversary box!
And for those who asked: there were 222 pieces of dog treats in the jar.
Our very own Karon with her young dog Cleo 🙂
Don’t they look amazing!
Look at Billie go! Hard to believe she started as a Velcro dog. Awesome work Kath!!
Course on Field 1 this week.
I’m probably going to get in trouble from this very humble handler for sharing…but how could I not???
A pretty awesome run from a handler who understands her job with a dog who understands his job. Isn’t that what creates agility perfection?
Here is a fantastic run from a little pocketrocket @their MyDAC session. Thank you Demia for sharing.
Super dog Stella, Suoer handler Reegan running a super fun course on a beautiful evening 🙂
They made it look easy 🙂
We try really hard at MyDAC to set courses for field hire to cater for the different levels of dogs and handlers. You can choose to either work out the puzzle and put various skill sets into a whole course or break it into sections to train the individual skills you and your dog need. If you find our course doesn’t challenge you enough, you are welcome to move jumps and numbers around. If you feel it is too challenging, you are also welcome to alter lines to suit your training goals.
If you required contacts lowered or specific equipment ie, broad, tyre, seesaw, please feel free to let us know when you book.
What we do ask is that your run your dog safely, treat your dog fairly and kindly and be respectful of others using the grounds.
Our plan is to provide you with an opportunity to leave with more skills than you arrived with 🙂. How you choose to use your time is up to you 🙂 .
Our Contact course - Scout showing what she learned!
We are in the progress of getting lights installed. So very exciting and our "test" light on field 3 looks promising. So we will hold our first evening course "Reward &Connect" from 6pm , starting next week Friday
So if you were unable to join us up to now, here is your chance with a weekly evening class.
We will let you know about the progress of the other installations very soon!
WELL DONE Maria & Neeko!
How good do they look on our Novice Jumping course!
MyDAC#Weave Course
We are having another Weave Course open for booking. Below you can see the results of one of our students with her dog. She had never done Agility prior and started with the Weaves. This is in the 4th session and isn't she doing well! If you consider joining us for this course please be aware that it is a pre-requisite to have a daily 10min committment to homework to achieve best results. You can hire a set of weaves for the homework from us for a $50 refundable deposit. Classes are small with only 4 dogs! Please go to https://www.mydogagilitycentre.com.au
Karen and Swift doing an amazing job (don’t blink!) running the course we have set up on Field One this week. Plenty of room to stretch out, plenty of fun challenges.
Our Fields are really starting to dry out now and we are very close to being able to use the whole field.
This course will be available for Field Hire until Sunday.
Tug o war Rossi style
What wonderful sunshine we were able to enjoy these last 3 days. Lets hope the rain will keep to a minimum these next days so we can finally look forward.
In the meantime Rossi has learned to accept his pen and is pretty chilled. He loves a good play of tug and we have enjoyed walks in the stroller. Settling in wonderfully.
