Here’s to the women…

The ones who lift each other up. Who shout “good luck” to the next rider in, who lend a hand to the lorry next door and who clap, even when they don’t win.

The ones who work really damn hard. The ones who juggle work, children, life and everything it throws at them, but still find the time to give their horses the care and attention they deserve.

The ones who are brave. The ones who don’t blink twice at galloping towards solid objects and the ones who overcome demons by just putting their foot in the stirrup.

The ones who are strong. The ones who throw hay bales, lift feed bags, carry water and don’t blink twice at piloting 600kgs of power and muscle with it’s own mind.

The ones who are kind. The ones who look out for other riders, who encourage their friends and strangers alike, and get a genuine good feeling when someone else does well.

The ones who are resilient. The ones who have looked despair and heartbreak right in the eye and carried on. The ones who refuse to let setbacks be their downfall and simply refuse to give up.

Here’s to you; equestrian women.
You are exceptional… and don’t let anyone ever tell you any different.

🍃THE ROLE🍃
Temporary stable manager for Willow Wood stables while our wonderful long term manager takes some time off as she becomes a Mum.

🍃THE CANDIDATE🍃
A motivated individual who has sound knowledge and experience in horse care and management. We want someone who has high attention to detail and holds themselves to a high standard of work.
A perfect job for someone studying or on their gap year.

🍃THE DETAILS🍃
We will need someone who is ready to start work anytime over the next 4 weeks.
The individual must be able to handle performance horses on their own and will be needed Monday-Friday for both morning and afternoon work.
This job not only entails daily stable hand duties but other managerial tasks as well.
Training will be provided - you will work side by side with the current stable manager while you find your feet in this role and get to know our team (two and four leggeds).

1️⃣ Weekend stable hand 1️⃣

🍃Details🍃
- Sundays from 830am-1130am and 3pm-4pm
- Mucking out, turning out horses, making feeds, rugging, feeding etc.
- good pay
- training provided

🌸Applicant must🌸
- be confident handling performance horses alone
- have good attention to detail
- be punctual and reliable

2️⃣ Weekday paddock cleaner 2️⃣

🍃Details🍃
- flexible time on Wednesday’s
- picking poo, raking hay and cleaning waters of up to 11 paddocks
- approx 2 hours
- good pay
- training provided

💁🏼‍♀️This is something my wonderful coach says often, a sort of catch phrase.

🤔What she means here, to dig a little deeper, is that pushing a horse and/or a rider past comfortable again and again in a short space of time is not how we should be working with our four leggeds.

😇It’s easy to get stuck enjoying your horse giving you their best, we all know the feeling when we finally get the “yes” answer to the question we’ve been asking. Whether your horse is waiting and balanced through a combination, you’ve been given a few perfect steps of shoulder in or you’ve simply achieved a balanced position yourself for the first time - the yes should not be pushed nor asked for over and over.

🥳Enjoy the moment, thank your pony, pat yourself on the back and remind yourself that you don’t have to achieve it all one day.

🌈Why do we love her?
Natty pretends to be the hard task master but actually is as soft as butter. She walks the talk and never expects anything of anyone she wouldn’t do herself. She has a deep and ever growing knowledge of horses and outstanding horse management skills. Natty treats all the horses as her own and is meticulous about their individual physical and emotional well being.
She happens to also like to boogie…are you seeing a trend here? Maybe that’s why we work so well together 🤔🤔

🌀Outside of Willow Wood:
Outside of training and competing with her four legged team, Natty spends her time working in a bar, and completing her uni degree. She also trains a very small group of horses and riders.
