⁉️SCHOOL HOLIDAY ALERT - Microchip Update Reminder⁉️
Day 2 of QLD School Holidays and we have had lost visitors both days.
What happens to stray animals handed into AHT Vets?
1. As always we greet our visitors with love and care, have a quick check over for noticeable injuries.
2. Scan the animal to check microchipping details.
3. Run details through Pet Address system and our system to locate owners details.
4. Attempt to contact owner to advise.
5. One of our nurses will offer a small meal, some water and a lot of love and attention.
If animal has no microchip found, or we are unable to contact the correct owner we then need to refer the matter to the pound to identify the animals owner.
How can you help in this situation?
🐶Reminding children to close all gates and doors properly.
🐶 Making sure your pets microchipping details are up to date and current.
🐶 Desexing your animal to help with the desire to wander.

🦴Do you have a large breed/deep chested dog?
🦴Is your dog at risk of GDV?
Gastric Dilatation and Volvulus (GDV) is a life-threatening condition in which the stomach fills with air and twists upon itself. GDV occurs most commonly in large breed, deep-chested dogs, although all dogs are at risk.
