CONGRATULATIONS!!! We are thrilled to announce that Dr Sara has recently passed her Membership exams in Small Animal Surgery and is now a Member of the Australian and New Zealand Collage of Veterinary Science. This is a testament of her passion, knowledge and dedication to diagnosing and managing small animal surgical conditions. The effort required to prepare for these exams is immense and achieving such outstanding results is commendable.

‼️PARVOVIRUS‼️

With a current outbreak of Canine Parvovirus in Warwick & surrounds at present, we thought it would be a timely reminder to all our clients to make sure that your doggy family members are up to date with vaccination 💉 Parvovirus is so highly contagious & can be spread so easily that your dog does not even need to leave their yard to contract this disease & you the owner can take it home on the bottom of your shoes or on your clothing.

Dogs whom are puppies & not had their full course of vaccinations, as well as younger dogs whom are not vaccinated at all are most at risk of contracting this horrible disease.

‼️PREVENTION IS BETTER THEN CURE…. OR DEATH‼️

For example, treatment of parvovirus can cost anywhere from $2500 - $3000 & upwards in price, when for just $85 -$100 you can vaccinate your dog against this horrible virus.

Office Assistant Looking for New Residence…. 🐱

The last of our little kittens that were dumped at the clinic is still looking for his forever home. He is completely house trained, been in contact with dogs & kids & has such an amazing friendly personality. His adoption will come with full vet work done including desexing, vaccination & microchipping. Oh Lady, oh Lady, oh where had you been?? 🗺️

Many people may have seen on our clinic social media, as well as local social media outlets, that elderly dog, Lady, had gone walkabout from her owners property and was missing. Given how many days she had been missing, as well as her limited sight, ailing health & diabetes, we were all concerned about her well being & quality of life given the time frame she had been missing for, as well as the environmental conditions she was exposed too during this time.

Well fast forward to Wednesday when we had a lovely couple walk in the clinic door with a very disheveled looking dog, full of burs & looking a little worst for wear saying they had found this poor little dog wandering on the side of the road, we knew it was Lady. What an absolute miracle!!

After getting the once over by the vets, some fluids for dehydration & a little TLC to get her blood glucose back in check & a tidy up, Lady was reunited with her beloved owner Evelyn whom had been missing her dearly. We were so glad that along with the Good Samaritans that brought Lady into our clinic, that we could reunite Lady & Evelyn back together again 💕

Unfortunately we have had another litter of 5 stray kittens find themselves at the clinic looking for new loving homes. We have found homes for 3 already & have 2 remaining kittens looking for their furever home. Available for adoption are:

🐱 1x Black & White - Male

🦴 A R T H R I T I S 🦴

Often we just assume a pet slowing down to be old age but could it be arthritic pain, especially as the weather gets colder???

The gradual onset of arthritis makes it go unnoticed until your pet becomes obviously sore and lame. Arthritis is a progressive degenerative joint disease that results in joint pain. This pain makes your pet want to be less active leading to weight gain & reduces their quality of life.

🔸 What Can You Do?
You can start with adding supplements to your pet’s food such as 4CYTE & Antinol. These contain Omega 3 and other nutrients to feed joint cells so they can maintain joint health. Alternatively you can book in to see one of knowledgeable Vets to discuss many pain management options.

Rewind Back ⏮️ to this time last Monday…. when we got to help celebrate with Alyssa, one of our school-based trainees, as she attended the Assumption school formal. Alyssa looked absolutely stunning & was a big difference to seeing her in her normal navy work uniform. We hope you had an amazing night & enjoyed yourself. Our staff are like an extension to the family & we love being able to celebrate all these special milestones together.

So adapt that this story comes after everyone’s Easter purge…. You can truely never have too much chocolate 🍫 especially when they are beautiful Labrador puppies as these.

We at the clinic love nothing more welcoming new life into the world & then being able to follow & support them through life. Meet Sadie…. whom we met via emergency caesarian section one Friday afternoon with all her other brothers & sisters. All born happy & healthy, 6 weeks later we got to have puppy cuddles again when they came in for their first vaccinations & microchipping. Time progressed & we seen Sadie for her follow up puppy vaccinations & then came time for further education, when Sadie attended puppy preschool. Sadie proved her breed characteristics & is highly intelligent & passed puppy preschool with flying colours. We can’t wait to see what else is in store for Sadie’s future!

Our next puppy preschool class will be starting again next Tuesday 9th April. If you are interested or would like to register to attend, please don’t hesitate to contact the clinic on 46611132.

There’s a category to cover all types of pets that you may have, so no one misses out.

A reminder to our clients regarding the details of our after hours emergency service.

🚨 When ringing our after hours mobile, please be sure to leave a voice mail message as we are not always in a position to answer the phone straight away. If a voice mail message is not left, we will not be returning your missed call due to the amount of spam calls to our mobile that we receive.

🚨 Our after hours emergency service is for Warwick Town & Country Vet clients only. We have had numerous calls of late from other clinic clients & we will not service these requirements. So please, if you are not a client of our clinic, please do not be offended when we cannot attend to your veterinary needs.

🚨 If a vet needs to attend to your veterinary emergency after hours, please be aware there will be a minimum call out fee of $400 for small animal emergencies & $500 for large animal call outs, not including surcharges for public holidays or if the call out is after 10pm.

🚨 There is always the option to take your animal to RedVets - 24/7 Emergency Centre in Toowoomba if having a vet from our clinic attend your after hours emergency is not an option for you.

We are seeing a lot of Blight, or Pink Eye as it is also referred to at present around our region. If you believe your cattle may be affected, please contact the clinic to discuss the different treatment options available on 4661 1132. Due to the amount of Flies & Mosquitoes around at present we recommend treating for these as well with either ear tags, backline drenches etc. to control the spread of these fly-born transmissions 🪰🦟

We are so proud to support & sponsor one of our very own, Shanthi, as she embarks on her endeavour as a 2024 Warwick Showgirl entrant. Many may not know this, but Shanthi only moved to Warwick less than 12 months ago, not knowing anyone & has really thrown herself into wanting to get out & get involved within our local community.

So now is our time as a community to get behind & help support her & as part of her fundraising efforts, she is running 2x $500 boards. It is $10 per number/square & the lucky winner will be drawn on completion of each board. $500 will go to the lucky winner & $500 will go towards Shanthi’s fundraising, with all proceeds going to Warwick Showgirl & Rural Ambassador Quest / Warwick Show and Rodeo Society Inc.
