UPDATE, A wonderful member of the public has come forth and donated a Dishwasher for our shelter!

It's been a "ruff" few days! Our poor dishwasher seems to have kicked the bucket and Sambro is here to help spread the "mews"!

If anyone happens to have an old, but working dishwasher they no longer require we will be happy to take it off your hands! Sambro will happily provide some award winning head boops as thanks!

Vetcetera has some news to share!
Dr Emma Raghavan has decided to step back from ownership and is transitioning to a part time surgical role at Vetcetera Animal Hospital.
She will miss seeing you, but she is very happy that she found a team that she can trust to take over client and patient care at Vetcetera. We wish her the very best in her new role and in this new chapter of her life and career - as the founder of Vetcetera she has tirelessly provided incredible care to her patients and their owners for decades and we are so very grateful for all that she has done.

We are very pleased to announce that Vetcetera will continue to be 100% locally and independently owned and operated by experienced and compassionate veterinarians- and that our Vetcetera support team members will continue to be here to serve you- we will now have 2 full time doctors for expanded appointment and surgical availability and we are even adding some evening appointment availability by end of September for your convenience!
As the new owner Dr Nadine Trudeau is very excited to be able to take her 28 years of experience as a veterinarian in HRM to her new role as practice owner!

"IMPORTANT NOTICE"

Please be advised that due to a temporary critical staff shortage the Metro Animal Emergency Clinic will be closed from Monday, March 11th at 8 am until 8 am Thursday, March 14th.

At reopening on Thursday morning, the usual 24/7 emergency and critical care will resume.

If you have a pet emergency during our regular clinic hours, please contact Vetcetera as you normally would at 902-832-4818.

Should you require emergency veterinary care outside of our regular hours, arrangements have been made with Coastal Care Veterinary Emergency & Referral Hospital to care for your pet.
Their contact information is as follows 902-703-2323, located at 168 Hobsons Lake Drive in Bayers Lake.

Today we kicked off our World Spay Day marathon with 4 neuters at Vetcetera. All the time, services and supplies was donated by the clinic and staff. WOW! Thank you to everyone at Vetcetera who were excited to get on board and support our World Spay Day efforts. This clinic, located on the Bedford Highway is locally owned and operated. They support our work with cats and other rescues as well. We encourage everyone to support local and especially those clinics that help charities. It is always a pleasure to deal with Dr. Emma Ragaven and her staff who provide compassionate and professional veterinary services. Blue, Chill, Buddy and Augustus will not be adding to the cat population of our city. This is the first 4 cats out of 89 scheduled.

The Metro Animal Emergency Clinic is experiencing a critical staffing shortage.

For Monday, January 1st:
Metro Animal Emergency Clinic is providing emergency care until 8 pm at which time they will close until Wednesday, January 3rd at 8 am.

For Monday, January 1st from 8 pm until 8 am on Tuesday, January 2nd:
Bedford Highway Veterinary Hospital will be providing emergency coverage for their clients and for regular clients at Vetcetera Animal Hospital. If you have a true animal emergency, you can reach them by TEXTING
705-302-2956 and leaving a message including your contact information.

For Tuesday, January 2nd from 8 am to 5 pm Vetcetera Animal Hospital will be open with full services.

For Tuesday, January 2nd at 5pm until 8 am on Wednesday, January 3rd:
Regular clients at Vetcetera Animal Hospital and Bedford Highway will be provided with emergency care at Vetcetera Animal Hospital. If you have a true animal emergency please CALL
782-321-9070.

Please note that the numbers provided will only be available during the specified times for emergency are only.

Like most veterinary hospitals, the Metro Animal Emergency Clinic has experienced staffing issues the past three years and are very short staffed this holiday weekend. This means that for the next 3 days we will be functioning at Priority 1 - ONLY CRITICALLY ILL AND LIFE THREATENED EMERGENCIES will be seen. All others will be referred back to their regular veterinary hospitals.

Do you have a brachycephalic dog? Short muzzle breeds are at an extreme disadvantage in hotter temperatures because the dog's primary mechanism for beating the heat is panting, and these dogs do not pant efficiently. Keep em in the cool AC! 🐕🐾❤️
