Nice Work Talon!!

Law enforcement K-9s have proven many, many times that their noses are more effective than their human counterparts'. Douglas County Sheriff's K-9 Talon just proved his nose also makes him better than a robot at finding a wanted felon!
K-9 Talon and Deputy Witt were called to assist Superior Police yesterday in the search for a man believed to have barricaded himself in a basement. The man had a felony warrant for sexual abuse.
For officer safety, police had used a robot with a camera to search the house but could not find the man. Deputy Witt shouted out warnings that a K-9 was going to be sent in if the suspect didn't surrender, but got no response.
And so K-9 Talon went in. It took him 30 seconds to sniff out that the guy was hiding behind a closed closet door. Officers went in, found the man attempting to hide under a rolled up mattress, and arrested him without incident.
Good work to all involved in arresting a dangerous felon with no one getting hurt!
We love any time we can share a success story involving a K-9, but this one is extra special because K-9 Talon just turned 10 years old this week. Clearly he's not slowing down yet!
