Our Story

We started our little family in 2006. I grew up in a big family that always had animals. My father believed that animals help kids learn in a lot of different ways. Having an animal teaches kids responsibility, compassion, and other important life lessons. I have always believed that every animal has a purpose, and you shouldn’t get an animal without knowing what the purpose would be. We got our first shiba when we had 4 small children. One of our friends had one and my husband soon fell in love with the breed and asked if we should get one. At first I was skeptical. I have never had any use for small dogs and I didn’t see how this would be any different. But he soon convinced me and we got our first Shiba Inu puppy. He was amazing. He didn’t have a usual shiba personality. He loved people. but he was still a guard dog. He would let us know if someone was around that he didn’t know. He would sit by the door and yap until we opened it and saw what he thought was a threat. He was a lot of fun. Unfortunately he didn’t live very long as he was ran over by a car. but he made us fall in love with the breed. They are very loyal. They are also almost too smart. After his death we waited a few years to find our next one. Solomon. He is our guard dog now. He has all the usual shiba personalities. He is too smart. He can escape from anything you put him in. He is also very loyal. any of my babies can go out and play with him at anytime and I don’t have to worry. They all love him. About a year after we got Solomon, we had a friend that was unable to keep her breeding shiba’s. So we took them in. I did all the training I could find on breeding and got a breeders certificate. It is so much fun watching these little things grow. I want to keep healthy well cared for dogs. Ones that kids can grow with.
