Time to return the favour. At Red Dog, we take dog walking and pet care to a new level. If you expect to receive exceptional, dependable service from a business that will treat your furry friend like family, look no further than Red Dog. We are tried and tested (not to mention registered and insured!) with many smiling pups served! When it comes to your dog, how could you settle for anything less?
We specialize in keeping dogs fit, socialized, and content. Leaving your dog alone all day is hard on both of you, but it is not always possible to find time to give them the exercise they require. Without it they can develop separation anxiety and become depressed and destructive. Luckily we offer a variety of services that ensure that at the end of your busy day, you come home to a very happy (and tired!) dog. Proudly serving Downtown Dartmouth and surrounding neighbourhoods. Pet First Aid Certified • Registered & Insured • Record Check Provided

“How do you keep them all together? Don’t they wander away?” Well, we’re all extremely needy, so that helps! 😂
Tom had the most prized stick in the forest this afternoon (which he carried for ages!) and Teddy DESPERATELY wanted a turn with it. When he finally got his shot I totally messed it up for him! Good thing Tom is so nice about sharing!
Just a quick note to let you know that if you’ve emailed me looking to book a consultation or with questions about services, please hang in there! I’m overwhelmed by the amount of interest there is in our hikes (thank you!), but I’m working through a waitlist at the moment. I can usually help by referring you to one of the many other excellent hiking companies in HRM, but please don’t expect an immediate reply. This is a little one-person company and I don’t sit at a desk all day, so it can take me some time to get back to you (unless you are a current client, in which case I am always trying my best to be in quick contact with you!). I appreciate all of your interest though, and I’m glad you’d trust me with your pups! That means a lot. ☺️ Please enjoy this Teddy moment, just ‘cuz.
We saw something pretty spectacular on the trail today! This is a solar halo. Can you see the rainbow in the outer ring? How beautiful is that? Solar halos form around the sun as light refracts off ice crystals present in a thin veil of cirrus clouds. I frantically googled something brilliant like “why sun have circle” and fortunately google knew what I meant. 😅. I feel so lucky to be able to spend my days outside and see so much natural beauty!
No photos today because it was pouring! I tried to do a quick little video but my phone was getting soaked. The pups thoroughly enjoyed the rain though, and all the fantastic puddles it gave us! Thanks for your patience with my new schedule this week. I’m still getting the hang of it so drop off and pick up times have been in flux all week (plus throw a little transmission trouble in the mix earlier this week for good measure! 😬) , but it should be more consistent very soon. Have a great weekend, pups and people!
I always get questions like, “How do you make ten dogs stay together?” Oh honey, you don’t MAKE ten dogs anything. 😂 We stick together because we like to, we have lots of practice, and that’s how we’re happiest. 🥰 (This was the very end of the hike when all the zoomies had been zoomed, but everypup is so good and stays in my orbit and where I can see them the entire time.)
If you walk your dog at Brightwood and you hear screaming coming from our house, it’s just Sidney watching you out the window and telling y’all to have a nice hike.
I like when the dogs just stop and observe. I like seeing them take in their surroundings, and watch the other creatures we share the woods with.
No photos today because we were drenched from start to finish! Here’s a speedy little peek at a small part of our soggy day though. If you’re going to be rained on, why not swim? Truman, Ike, Dylan, Ruby C, Ruby F, Roman, Zoey, Cinders, Rico, Corona, Della, Cashew, Rudy, Eddie, Anfinn, Koko, & Eevee…thanks for spending all day with me!
You’re the very best people, thank you! Between two transfers made up of your gifts, and another one with the proceeds of my morning hike, we were able to pass along $398 to Tynesha today. She’s so touched by your generosity and I am too! Here are a pair of waggly tails, just because. ♥️
I didn’t get a photo of Eevee today, but here she is jogging to the lake for a swim in the rain with two of her small friends.
Loooove my summer swimming sessions with the pups. I didn’t realize that this was Rudy’s first time really swimming! He was very brave. He had a few more successful attempts, but the sleeve of my bug suit was blocking the view, ugh. I’ll try to film him properly next time! Notice how Eddie just like to be held in the water? 😂
Just some quick video today because we got soaked, all day long! I’m so sorry, I don’t think I got everyone in the videos, but today’s Red Dogs were Lucy, Truman, Rosie, Dylan, Wally, Ruby F, Roman, Zoey, Cinders, Rico, Corona, Della, Emma, Chewie, Axel, Gizmo, JJ, Eddy, Eddie, & Koko!
Well, we’ll wait five more minutes and see if this passes. 😭 We’re a rain or shine crew, but we take no chances with thunder!
