If it’s hot enough to fry an egg on the sidewalk, you probably don’t want to go for a walk
anyway. Neither does your dog! 🥵 Avoid those sizzling sidewalks and keep their precious
paws protected!
Before heading out for a walk, test the pavement with your hand. If it’s too hot for you, it's
too hot for them! Early morning or evening walks are the way to go during summer
scorchers. 🌇 And if you’re still not sure, check out our chart to see when it's best to skip
the walk.
Trust us, please do NOT go for that walk if it’s too hot. Stay cool, stay indoors, and enjoy
the air conditioning! 🫠

Living with a double-coated pet means endless cuddles and... well, endless fur! 🐕 Their double
coat is great for insulation, but makes them champions of shedding. 🙈 Make sure to brush them
regularly to keep that undercoat in check and your home fur-free...ish. 😂

Do you have a cat that makes biscuits so often, you’ve started to wonder if they’re ready to
open their own bakery? 🍞 🤔
Don’t worry, they’re not trying to take over the kitchen (yet)! 😸
One of our favourite reasons cats knead is to express comfort and affection. As kittens, they
kneaded their mother’s belly to stimulate milk production and bond with her. Now, as adults,
they continue this behaviour with you to show their affection and feel secure!
If you’re cat doesn’t do this, that’s totally normal. Not all cats are quite so…kneady. 😸 But if
your cat’s the type that’s always kneading the blanket beside you (or, lucky you, your lap) you
should feel special, because you definitely are to them! 🥰

Looks can be deceiving! This is the Siberian squill - gorgeous, right? But as stunning as it is, it's
highly toxic to both pets and humans. ☠️ The consequences of your dog or cat nibbling on this
plant are far from pretty, and could lead to severe health issues and even death.
If you spot Siberian squill growing in your garden, consider removing it to keep your pets safe.
And if you suspect your pet has ingested any part of this plant, contact your vet immediately! 🚑

Did you know? April is National Heartworm Awareness Month! ❤️ With summer on the horizon and temperatures on the rise, it's time to talk heartworm prevention.

As temperatures continue to break records across the world due to climate change, mosquito development and biting rates are being turbocharged! 😱 Studies show that rising temperatures are creating the perfect breeding grounds for mosquitoes, increasing the risk of heartworm transmission to our pets. 🌡️ 🦟

Heartworm disease can be fatal, but here's the good news: it's completely preventable! By staying proactive and implementing a year-round prevention routine for your cat, dog, or ferret, we can stay one step ahead of this disease! We all know chameleons are famous for their colour-changing antics, but have you ever
wondered HOW they do it? 🤔
Chameleons change colour thanks to special cells under their skin called
chromatophores. These cells contain different pigments, and by adjusting them,
chameleons can switch hues for communication, temperature regulation, and even to
express their moods!
