It would seem FB had not yet allowed me to ch she my name š I have sent in the request, and even tried a secondary way but alas, no change yetā¦.. I will continue to try!!!
Today was a very big day for Miss Susan! She headed off to her new home with her new momma! Thank you Dalilah for giving this standardbred a chance! š
Working on something great!!! Will be so nice having a safe and proper riding space again!
Iāve had a few people mention the page title still showing āVā instead of āGā
The name change has been submitted, and it could take up to 3 days to be accepted. Please hold tight while FB processes this! And for those of you who know the main reason behind the change in nameā¦.. trust me I want it changed as quick as possible as well! š¤£š
THE WAIT IS OVER!!!!
With new beginnings, comes a new name! I wanted to try to keep it as close to the original logo as possible to eliminate as much confusion as possible!
So please say hello to our new and much improved name! PINE G RANCH & RESCUE.
Now for a little backgroundā¦.. after leaving the farm, I knew I needed to come up with a new name. I spent weeks, and week contemplating a new name, when out of nowhere, my love mentioned G instead of V!!!
And it was PERFECT! But of course youāre going to want to know why G?!?
Gi**lo Killean. My heart horse, my main supporter and the love of my life. Although Gigs was not a rescue by any means, nor was he my first horse, but through all my ups and downs over the span of nearly 15 years, he saw me through it all (and many years prior to that when he belonged to several other people) sadly, my boy was euthanized in the fall of 2023 in his 26th year, as his pain from an injury in 2019 got to be too much from him.
Iāve submitted the name change to the FB gods, but it may take a few days to be accepted. In the mean time, Iāll continue my calling in honor of him, and under his name! š
Who remembers Bugsy?
Bugsy came to us about two years ago, with some nasty wounds on her legs. She was adopted by a lovely young lady who has had nothing but fun with this mare the past two years!
Unfortunately Bugsy has not been blessed with great conformation, and has been showing some lameness in recent months, and simply canāt keep up with as much riding as her momma would like to do.
So Bugsy is up for adoption to a COMPANION ONLY home. With a new momma who understands that some maintenance is required to keep her comfortable. Previcox, joint suppliments, and some corrective trimming/shoes are her best shot at staying comfortable.
If you think you could provide a loving home for this beauty please donāt be afraid to reach out.
We will be picky on where she goes!!
We are on the lookout for blankets for our Tucker boy! Would love to outfit him for winter!! We are in need of the following
Rain with detachable hood
Liner
Mid weight winter with detachable hood
Heavy winter with detachable hood
Needed in size 56/57. Need them to be in great shape as out boy will need help getting through winter!
So last night after some grooming, Ayla, Tucker and I went for a little stroll in the paddock! Tucker loves this mare and they are never very far apart! I got to work on some liberty stuff with Ayla, and Tucker acted like he had been then second liberty horse his whole life!! The last few weeks, Tucker has really packed on some pounds thanks to the hard work and dedication of the staff at the barn with his multiple feedings a day! We are really working on another 45-50 lbs for this guy to help him through winter! In the meantime! Enjoy the cutest little bond between these two love birds š
Spent some time in the dry lot with these ponies tonight! We have the best little herd around š Ayla the liberty pony, and little buddy just being the best pony there is!!!
Such amazing news coming tonight!!! Suzie Q has been adopted!
A huge thank you Nancy for trusting me to find yet another one of your amazing horses a home, and to this young lady who gave Suzie a chance! Looking forward to seeing this pair grow!!
Tucker really is the sweetest little guy! Always looking for kisses and scratches! Today he enjoyed some paddock free grazing while water troughs filled, and showed us the perfect example as to why he struggles to hold weight. Everything he chews he spits out simply due to his lack of teeth. :( poor guy!
Yesterday Mr Samson got treated to PEMF! Itās clear from this video we have lots to work on! He really enjoyed his session and we are hoping to do weekly treatments until we see significant improvement!
Toddler chaps. Worn once for maybe 20 mins. No size but Iād say for 3-4 year old. $50 all proceeds going directly to the rescue
If you missed our previous post, here is our very first fundraiser since being back!

Check it out!!!
Tucker update!!!
This feisty little man sure can eat! We have been upping his grain intake slowly over the last few weeks and heās up to 3 full meals a day! I am really starting to see a difference over his ribs. I donāt know if he will ever be a plump pony just given his age but heās well on his way to being healthier!
Last weekend we welcomed back a familiar face. I donāt think this boy needs a re introduction as heās pretty recognizable!
Samās adoptive momma reached out after some trouble in the paddock at a new boarding facility, so of course we offered to help! We hooked up the trailer and headed right to him! It was evident when he was turned out in the feild that he was displaying dominant behaviours, however I would not consider it dangerous or agressive. I witnessed a group of horses find their place in a mixed herd. Of course there were bumps and bruises but thatās going to happen. I did not feel like one or more horses needed to be removed. Sam has since found his place in this herd and they all respect each other now.
SAM IS NOT UP FOR DISCUSSION AT THIS TIME.
If you donāt remeber Samās story, with the help of friends, I was able to obtain this teddy bear from what was certain to be his demise. We worked endlessly to help him with his sway back from carrying around FAR too much weight, build his strength and muscle tone, and teach him itās not all about work! He became the gentlest giant and often fell asleep while being loved on! He loves his new life!!!
For now, Sam will live in our fields while we try to get to the route of his dominant nature and see if we can help him!
Welcome back Samšš
If you would like to help with Samās rehab please keep an eye out for items up for sale that will
Help cover his costs while here, otherwise monetary donations can be made directly. Please contact us directly!
Tucker is looking (non)fly in his fly gear! Poor little dude was riddled In bugs so some much needed fly gear was in store for this little dude!
He really is the sweetest little thing!
So vet was here today!
We received the best news we could given the circumstances!
Tucker had his teeth floated, and in the words of the vet āheās 1000 years oldā š¤£ It can be very difficult to estimate a horses age into their twenties but there is a very good possibility this young man is closer to 30!!! And we are ok with that!
he has very few teeth left, and is having troubles chewing, so soft mashes multiple times a day to help his weight is whatās in store!
His age didnāt stop him from putting up a fight when it came time for sedation, nor did it stop him during his bath last night either!!!
We will see how he comes along over the summer weight wise, but his appetite says he will be. Typical plump pony in no time! No cushings suspected!!
For right now, hereās a few pictures I took upon arrival. He has nice little feet on him, so thatās a bonus!
Suzie Q was moved back to the dirt pen today after the last month of being on pasture, and she was NOT impressed with having to eat from a hay net again!!!
These nets are life savers in many ways. Not only do they prevent virtually all hay waste, they help control weight, and help when it comes to horses with heaves.
Hereās hoping Suzieās patience will prevail and she wonāt chew through the net!!!
This past week we received the absolute best update from Dreams adoptive mom!!! He is going very well and very quiet under saddle and has taken on the role of riding horse like heād been doing it his whole life!! His new favourite riding partner is no other than a 5 year old girl!
A lot of people hesitate towards the unbroke horse, the gaited horse, certain breeds (Standardbreds specifically) only to be completely shocked that they turn out to be some of the best! Never pass up an opportunity!
Letās just take a minute to appreciate the MASSIVE dirt pen we have here at the new farm!!! This field is more than 3 times bigger than what we had available at the old farm, and it has made for a very easy spring with very little mud, and lots of roaming! Buddy our permanent, Ayla my personal horse and Pankcake will Remain here, while the four Standardbreds graduate to the pasture tomorrow for the rest of the summer!
Letās just take a minute to appreciate what some calm energy, a little patience, and the right environment can do for a horse!!!
Suzieās and I have spent extra time in the round pen the last week or so, and itās really paying off!
I have watched this little mares anxiety melt away! I have removed the pressure of riding and focused on ground work and bonding.
Please enjoy a little clip from tonightās session š
Anyone willing to give Suzie Q a chance?
If youāve missed her previous appreciation post, This lady is looking for her forever partner to ride with as often as she can!
Standing a solid 14.1hh, with a a beautiful flowy forward moment, Suzie is is need of a confident individual that will spend lots of time teaching her new things and hitting the trail!
She is UTD on farrier and worming, trailers well, can have her moments of āhard to catchā but for the most part is the first at the gate (Iād say 97% of the time sheās perfectly fine to catch) and on her hard to catch days I send out the kids!
Recently completed 30 days training in February, and has been eagerly awaiting a rider that can provide more saddle time than she gets here!
In typical standardbred fashion, Susie has been exposed to MANY different environments and takes everything in stride (hahaha) but she is a little higher anxiety and for that I wouldnāt suggest a nervous rider or first time horse owner. That being said, working alongside a coach may be a great opportunity for both horse and rider to learn!
Suzieās adoption fee is open to negation to the perfect home!
We are still on the lookout for the right home for our Suzie Q!
We have such amazing news for our lady bug! She has joined a herd not farm from our farm where she has access to 9 acres of pasture!
We have had a rough month or so with her weight, after wintering fairly well, she declined over the past month or so, and we have made the decision to move her to her final herd and home where she can have unlimited pasture!
Here she is pictured with one of the senior horses sheās pastured with, Honey, who seems to love having a new friend!
We are grateful to Gary and his wife for allowing this special lady to join the seniors to live out her days š
Where are my standardbred loving people?! Who is in need of a fun and forward trail mount?!?
PLEASE NOTE: Susan is not a rescue, rather her owner is looking for the best possible home for her š
Do we have something special for you!!
Pleased to introduce Susan! This energetic 16 year old mare is looking for a rider that can keep up with her energy and blaze the trails for hours on end! Standing at a stocky 14.1hh this compact little lady is the perfect size for a confident youth, or smaller adult rider looking for a bit more of a challenge!
Susan completed 30 days under saddle training and was sure happy to have a job! A previous racehorse, turned broodmare Susan has seen it all and in typical standardbred fashion doesnāt shy away from much!
Susan requires a confident rider that understands that while she is respectful, she is forward moving and eager to please! Susan is happiest while out on the trails with friends, but will also back out alone with little fuss. Susan lives outdoors 24/7 but is happy to have a stall when needed. Easy keeper, no grain required, mixed herd and tends to be the boss.
Susan can play hard to catch from time to time, and we have found when she gets in those moods, we send the kids out to catch her as she adores children. Unfortunately weather and time restraints have not allowed for a whole lot of saddle time this past month, and she has only about 12-15 rides on her since returning from training in March.
Would love to see Susie Q in the hands of a confident experienced youth looking for a fun time on the trails, around the farm and just all around being loved on.
An adoption fee will be in place, and can be discussed with serious interest. Please reach out if you think Susan would suit what you are looking for. Located in Dorchester currently.

Letās find our Dream a home!!! This boy is dying for his own human to spoil him! Loves to follow you around, always up for a play date, secretly loves to cuddle, and a personality on him for days!!!! Think you have it in you to provide a forever home? Let us know!!
Dream is really enjoying his under saddle training and I am so excited to see him become the best version of himself in the hands of the right rider! Heās a project suited to an intermediate-advanced rider. Suited to trail and light flat work. I would not recommend him to a lesson or jumping/performance home. If dream sounds like your dream horse please reach out!!!
From terrified to triumphant!! Great progress was made with Dream today! This boy is smart and willing and is going to make a lovely riding mount! Enjoy the air show happening behind us!!! It was also a great tool to be utilized during training!
Letās just take a moment to appreciate how sound and comfortable this cutie is now that sheās got shoes?!? Sheās due for a reset on the 24th. After which we will be start her on an regular exercise program and get her started back under saddle. I am šÆ comfortable placing her in a proper home that can continue with her farrier work and proper diet!
Yesterday the horses got their excitement when the crop dusters were out! Everyone is safe, everyone is fine! I welcome things like this around here, itās such a good desensitization tool! Take note that the highest anxiety horse (lady, whoās wearing the fly sheet) is the only one not hyped up!!!
Chance did big boy things last night!!! We decided to try a bath for the first time and he quickly decided the extra attention was exactly what he wanted!! Followed by a big roll in the sand of course!!
Our Babylon Bea had her first under saddle experience in nearly 3 years and absolutely adored every minute of it! This girl still has a journey ahead of her when it comes to healing her foundered feet, but we wanted to test her out and we were very happy with her! Yes this mare is available, no she is not available to an inexperienced home, or a home who is going to allow her to be on pasture. A knowledgeable home is required.
Cricket has been an absolute star in his exercise program! He really seems to love having a job, and his first saddle experience (in our care) was a great one!!
This is a long one, but an important step! The last few days activities have had us using a twitch to get things done safely and efficiently, which has not left a good taste in his mouth when it comes to working around his face. Unfortunately this is not making it easy to do meds, so we are starting from scratch, allowing him to make mistakes and rewarding when he does something good! He will come around and we will continue to work on him! But for now, we will take it slow. Enjoy!!!
