In honor of international Dog Day, my dogs have decided to spend every waking moment with me. Just like every other day 🤣. But today is special because this is the first day EVER that Fiona initiated sharing any space with Aurora. EVER! Special thanks in part to Cheryl Hannah with Natural Bioenergetics for coming alongside our training and socialization protocols to make this weird thing a reality ❤️. The trickiest part was stepping out of the shower to get a camera to take this picture 🤣❤️🐾

Our local SPCA is in urgent need of a new air conditioner to keep their dogs cool and safe this summer. The heat is unbearable, and the pups need a comfortable environment while they wait for their forever homes.

Good work everyone! Can't wait to see you all in Elementary School in September ❤️🐾

15 minutes after her scary encounter with Shrek the stuffed Dalmatian and she is happier but still unable to perform basic behaviors on cue without extra reassurance from me and an occasional shoulder check to make sure he doesn't sneak up on her. Expecting my dog to just "shake it off" and carry on like it's no big deal and she wasn't just scared spotless is pretty unreasonable. She may not be able to perform anything significant for the rest of today. So she will get a nice break, some sniffing in the Sniff and Seek Studio and then later tonight a free run at True North Canine Compound. And tomorrow we will go back to our regularly scheduled silly pet tricks

Step one! Place Shrek in a place that she can see him but doesn't have to directly interact. Step two! Make him smell better with a tasty can full of trash (optional) 🤪🤣 Step three! I am clicking when she looks directly at him, even just a glance. Yep sometimes my clicks are too slow. It happens 😉 I'm tossing the treats away from Shrek for now (except for a bad bounce that she still went for 🎉). She is able to come out of her hiding spot under the desk but is not willing to approach her Prince quite yet. That's all for today! Less than 2 minutes of "training" and she's done for the day. This is not an important obstacle in her life. I can manage Shrek's location for the most part so she really has no need to love him. I just don't want her to be worried every time she comes to work with me that this Shrek guy is going to harass her 🤣 Besides an entire movie series is counting on this relationship 🧌🧟‍♀️👸

Aurora takes a slightly different approach to pretty much everything than Fiona does. Whereas Fiona will need several new introductions to her new "friends". Aurora embraces new friends with all her heart and mouth 😜. I was left unsupervised at ReBark today for a lot longer time than usual so Aurora and 8 have been wasting our time goofing off instead of working 🤣❤️🐾

Once the stranger laid down to have a nap, she had no problem sniffing it's backward side and stealing all the treats that were on the floor around it but they aren't friends yet 🤣. She gets an Arctic Ice Lick break and we'll try again another day 🤦‍♀️😊❤️🐾

I thought since Fiona loves the giant stuffed monkey, lion and fox we have at home that meeting a full sized Dalmatian would be fun. Not. At. All! So now we have this very still, non blinking dog sitting in one corner and a panting, unblinking dog in another corner measuring each other up. Wait until she meets the shepherd 😳🤦‍♀️

Hey Tara! Aurora has a few more things to say to Benji 🤷‍♀️. I think she wants to challenge him to a public competition 😜. See you both at my grand opening party on June 28 with @se_chamber

My dogs had a disagreement a couple days ago and one was injured enough that requires them to be separated for a couple of days. While Aurora is on crate rest, Fiona is learning about muzzle training so when they are reunited there's a better chance of no more damage 😳 Thanks @taramartice for the quick refresher on muzzle acclimation. I think she is enjoying it so far 🤣

Funny Farm K9 Coaching - Angel Dumoulin

Angel has read, studied, and practiced science-based dog training for more than 15 years and has taught numerous puppy/dog training classes. One of the greatest learning experiences of her career has been running her own doggy daycare and training facility. She has also served as a volunteer foster home for SPCA/ Humane society and as volunteer board member of local non-profit dog club, Top Dog (Prince George) Her health and nutrition experience and education include Pet Value (USC Davis) training program for small animal, fish and Herptile, feline, and Canine care and nutrition, the Healthy Pets Program from Bone and Biscuit, Petcurean University Nutrition program, levels 1, 2, 3 and taken Animal First Aid classes.

Besides her hands on experience with canine behavior she has also taken 3 Dunbar academy programs in canine behavior as well as several online programs in canine behavior and nutrition hosted by Kathy Sdao, Ian Dunbar, Jean Donaldson, Bob Baily, Karen Pryor, Absolute Dogs, and others.

Because she believes in continuing to learn and upgrade her skills and knowledge through many programs in canine behavior and nutrition, she currently a student at Karen Pryor Academy, studying animal training and behavior.
