Meet Baloo, a gentle giant with a heart as big as his frame! This large breed Bullmastiff is incredibly strong and full of love, but he needs an experienced adopter who can provide him with the specialized animal-kind training he requires. Baloo has faced challenges with a previous leg injury, so he'll thrive in a home where his health and mobility can be carefully managed. Due to his size and strength, he's not suited for a household with small dogs or cats, but he more than makes up for it with his affectionate nature. Baloo absolutely adores cuddling and will make a loyal companion for someone ready to embrace his sweet, gentle demeanor. If you're looking for a devoted friend who's eager to share his love, Baloo might just be the perfect addition to your family! ❤

It’s Orbeez turn to be shown what true love and safety really is! Let’s find this boy a home to call his own 🤍

Meet Orbeez, the dashing tuxedo cat with a sweet tooth for squeeze treats and a heart full of love — Once you unlock it, that is! At 5 years old, this black-and-white charmer is the perfect mix of shy and sly, with a playful side that’s just waiting to shine.

Orbeez might play it cool at first, but give him some time (and a few tasty treats), and you’ll see his inner goofball come to life. He’s got a thing for toys and a knack for making you work for his affection — but trust us, it’s worth it!

If you’re looking for a cat who’s as fun as he is fancy, Orbeez is ready to turn your home into his playground. Adopt this treat-loving, tuxedo-wearing gentleman, and get ready for a PURR-fectly delightful, adventure! ✨

Feeding wildlife might seem like a good idea, but is it? 🤔 When you feed wild animals, you may harm the animals you intend to help! How?
⚠️ Human-sourced food may lack the nutrients wild animals need which can lead to malnutrition, bone deformation, and even death.
⚠️ When people feed wildlife, wild animals may become habituated, increasing the chances of negative human-wildlife encounters.
Learn why wildlife feeding is not a good idea!

Remember Fetty? She spent over 100+ days in care after being rescued from a property in Northern BC with over 200 other cats. Fetty patiently waited for it to be her turn to find a fur ever home. Now, she has found that and couldn’t be happier 🥰

“Hello! I was the lucky gal to take Fetty home with me! I know she was a much loved gal of the staff and I thought I’d send a little update now that she’s been with me! She was a bit shy at first but with some patience (and treats!) she’s been coming out of her shell. She is a big fan of butt scratches and her “witching hour” (crazy fun time) is always right when I decide to try to sleep. 😂 Here are a few photos/videos of her.”

Congratulations on the fur-ever family ❤️

🐾 Adoption Update on Jack 🐾 (Now Chewie 🩶)

“Hi everyone,

Chewie is making himself right at home.

He wasn’t leaving my side but now we are getting a balance.

Gave him a hair cut and he looks like a completely different dog. Who knew 🤷‍♀️. He looks more like a schnauzer mix. I think. Guess. He slept through half of his hair cut. 👏”

Puppy Training Must-Knows!
Even the most adorable puppy needs training, so before you get overwhelmed by those razor-sharp chompers and endless zoomies, let's talk training!
1. Puppies are learning machines. Start puppy socialization as soon as your vet gives you the go-ahead!
2. Every interaction will shape their behaviour, so make sure they are learning from positive experiences.
3. Help your pup learn canine communication skills. Find friends with healthy, vaccinated adult dogs for safe playdates.
4. Get tips from real experts! Check The when, how and why of puppy training at https://animalkind.ca/kind-corner-when-how-why-of-puppy-training/.

Puppies are sponges for learning who are making emotional associations with every experience they have. When to start training? You can head start when...

Our Teen Summer Campers learned that bunnies spend more time in care than majority of our other residents, and took it upon themselves to help get them adopted. Here is one of the reels created by two of our campers to highlight Plum!

In the words of the campers and creators of this video: "Plum is bonded to her bestie, Bunny Boop and they have been here for a while. They're waiting to be adopted and brought into their forever home. Right now, they live at the BCSPCA Nanaimo branch."
