New announcement! 🎉
Meet Batman! He’s our newest foster pet from Ottawa Pocket Pet Rescue and the first mouse we’ve fostered in store.
Thanks to so many amazing adopters, all of the rescue’s hamsters have found loving homes so now it’s the mice’s turn!!
He’s an active little boy and loves to snoop around after a cage cleaning, making sure everything is in order. He’s pretty dang cute, too! Just look at those ears!! 🥹💕
Welcome, Batman! We hope you find your forever family soon!
💜 We love seeing photos of your pets and we also love hearing pawsitive reviews - why not combine those two things?
Share a photo or video below of your pet enjoying a toy or treat purchased from us, and you may just see it on our socials in the coming weeks! 👀
Featured is late staff pug, Ella, beating up her lamb chop - always a favourite. 💜
These two boys made sure to wake up from their afternoon nap for a nice selfie and we’re happy to oblige! 🥰 Remember - Muffin 🧁 and Pancake 🥞 from Ottawa Pocket Pet Rescue are still looking for their forever home!
The Breakfast Boys from Ottawa Pocket Pet Rescue are still looking for their forever home! 🧇
Sweet, little Muffin was out for cuddles the other day - we just can’t resist! This litter is really too cute 💕
It's here!! 🎉
Oxbow Animal Health's brand new Prime Cut hay has just hit our shelves and we're pretty excited about it!
Does your pet pick out the parts of hay they prefer and ignore the rest of it? It's a common issue in the world of hay feeding, believe it or not! And now Oxbow has a solution for it!
Prime Cut comes in two tasty, distinct options for even the most discerning of palettes:
🐰 Hearty & Crunchy! Crispy hay with thicker stems and more seed heads.
🐰Soft & Lush! Fluffy and tender hay with thinner stems and softer leaves.
As a bonus, the box doubles as a play station! Open the feeding window at the front and hang toys off of it to add some easy enrichment to your critter's day! 💜
☀️Earlier this week we talked about water safety and life jackets, so why not show them off a bit?
Here is resident Critter Jungle pup, Tyson, enjoying his Ruffwear FloatCoat! 🙌
Our sweet foster rabbit Mustang (who is still up for adoption with his brother through Rainbow Rabbit Rescue & Sanctuary!) just had to say hello this morning 💕
Here’s your Monday pick-me-up for the day:
staff-rat, Onyx, enjoying up some early morning scritches. What could be better? 🥰
We think it’s time the small animals get some love! 🐀💕
Have you heard of forage feeding? 🤔 It’s one of the easiest ways to increase enrichment in your small animal’s life! One simple way to encourage foraging is to sprinkle some of their food around their cage (or in a spare hay bin for buns and guinea pigs) so they have to hunt or forage for it. That’s it!!
What does foraging do for your pet?
🔹It satisfies their natural instinct to search for food works their little brains at the same time!
🔹It adds both physical AND mental exercise!
🔹It keeps them busy with stimulating tasks which keeps them out of trouble and reduces unwanted behaviours!
We have a variety of options available for forage feeding, so keep your eye out for that post coming later this week! 👀 In the meantime, check out this video of our manager’s little hamster foraging for his evening snacks ⬇️
Volume up for a dose of serotonin to get through the rest of the week! 🔊⬆️
🤔 Do you think Jack likes these treats? 🤔 we’re not sure…
New pelletized catnip treats from Narcatics (we didn’t pick the name, okay) are already a HUGE hit. The bag isn’t even open! 😻
They also make a unique blend of catnip alternatives for those kitties who are immune to catnip! Both products available in-store now! 🎉
Now toys from Budz available now!
