In response to Andrea Gustafson's post on April 6th regarding her dog Chewie Williams.
I reached out to Andrea by phone to discuss her concerns but was unfortunately met with threats and hung up on.
I would like to take this time to provide further insight on the situation.
Chewie was a large breed possibly Collie/Lab cross with a lot of hair. She arrived at my shop on Thursday March 30th at 1:00pm for her grooming. The owner said about 2 hours, I replied at least 2 hours I will call you when she's ready to go.
I shaved Chewie down all over with a #7 which leaves about 1/8" of hair as per her owner's request. I shaved, trimmed her nails, cleaned her ears, trimmed her feet and completed a sanitary clip.
I then had an emergency and had to leave the shop just before 3:00pm, I was in a hurry and accidentally forgot my cell phone.
My Employee of 8 plus years was left looking after the dogs, she bathed and hand dried Chewie while I was gone.
I expected to be back much sooner than I was, I arrived back just after 4:00pm to find Chewie's owner and another client waiting outside. I locked the shop door when I left, as my employee feels safer when she's in the back by herself. This employee does not deal with the customers, nor does she handle the payments.
I handed the one lady her dog as I had finished him before I left. I told Chewie's owner she's not ready yet, but won't be long. I only had to finish her, since she was bathed and hand dried while I was gone.
Chewie only took 15 to 20 minutes to finish up. I could not possibly shave, bath, dry and finish a large dog in 15 minutes!
Chewie was whining a bit as she knew her owner was in the front, she had not been whining prior to their arrival.
Chewie was shaved with a close blade all over, therefore not possible to leave hair in patches.
Chewie was never put in a kennel she was hand dried, then given water,
Chewie was only at the shop from 1:00pm to 4:30pm not long for a large breed dog with a lot of hair.
