Jack, the blind BC we fostered last summer through Heart and Soil Dogs, is here to stay for a couple weeks and we have to send a HUGE shoutout to his wonderful guardians and all the folks working with them (Brooklyn Adventure Dogs, Down to Earth Doglady) for their dedication in helping him get a place where he is full-on THRIVING 🥹

The difference in this little cutie pie is seriously noticeable and I am over the moon proud of him and his parents.

I’m writing this post to give our clients a heads up so that there’s no panic or confusion.

I have made the decision to list Rover Cove Resort for sale and our listing will be live over the next week.

I grew up on the Roseway Beach road, and my land was given to me by my parents - so this is not a decision taken lightly, but as most of you know I’ve been juggling the idea of relocation for the past couple of years.

Although Roseway is secluded, peaceful, within 20 minutes of amenities and has provided a wonderful environment that our dog guests have flourished in, I recognize that our location is not as convenient as I’d like it to be for training clients.

If my career was simply based in boarding and daycare or small-scale training services (as originally planned), our location would work wonderfully. We have grown an excellent clientele within our little rural community.

But as a professional who is dedicated to progressing my dog training career and who has currently invested upwards of $50K on my education and skill work (with no end in sight 🫣), I would like to offer my services on a much larger scale.

Rover Cove Resort is a successful, trusted business and can be sold to take over operations, as well as our full brand (social media, logos, etc) if wanted.
We will be adding the option for the facility to come fully furnished.

With nearly four acres of land it would be easily achievable to A)renovate the building to attach a small home, B)build a separate home on the property or C)expand the building.

There is also the option to purchase the building and renovate it into a residential home.

Property location is under 2km of Roseway beach, and is private and wooded.

We will be staying in operation at this location until sale. At that time services will be relocated. I will keep you all updated every step of the way!

When the property is officially listed we will update with listing link and contact information in the case that you have questions or want to schedule a viewing 🙂

We are constantly stressing to folks inquiring about our DaySchool service that we are NOT simply a “drop your dog off to play and raise hell all day” daycare 🚫 What makes us a DaySchool vs a Daycare? 🤍 Staff qualified in canine behaviour and social management 🤍 A Certified Professional Trainer on hand to help with daily training and enrichment 🤍 Everyday stimuli and stressors are managed thoroughly to keep a calm, relaxed environment 🤍 Hour-long rest periods per every two hours of play to allow for decompression and to avoid overstimulation and stress in our social groups 🤍 Age-appropriate games and enrichment activities to assist with cognitive development 🤍 Each dog is treated as the individual he/she is with unique desires and needs 🤍 We spot and target desirable behaviours (e.g. good greeting manners, appropriate dog-dog play) and immediately reinforce those behaviours so that the dogs want to keep offering them 🤍 We spot and target undesirable behaviours (e.g. excessive jumping or barking) and come up with aversive-free training plans to manage and reduce these behaviours 🤍 100% transparency in everything that we do – if your dog doesn’t enjoy social time, or we feel is struggling during the days at our facility, we will NOT continue to take your money at your dog’s emotional expense.
