❤️Paige is almost ready to go to her forever family 🥹🥰
The best mamma, she is now only nursing three times daily and the brood are all eating kibble float with formula, and puppy canned food for texture. Since arriving with us in May, she has been in my home with our family and dogs, and has adjusted seamlessly. Paige is around 1 year old, is ~55lbs and already full grown. She is a shepherd mix and was rescued from Sandy Lake, a northern Indigenous community while very pregnant.
Paige is perfect for handling, potty trained, has no separation anxiety and is great loose/unattended in the home. She sleeps on her bed most of her free time or lounges in the yard in the sun. She loves to snuggle and be with you, she’s amazing with other animals and children.
Paige loves snackies- treats of any kind she seems to be very happy with. The only no-go so far has been frozen vegetables 😂 she doesn’t get into things unless it’s food packages left within reach, which you can’t really blame her 🙄
We have now reduced her feeding to about 50% which is about 6-8 cups per day to help stop milk production, this will help her mammary size start to reduce as she continues weaning. Her feeding will continue to decrease until normal, (about 3-4 cups per day) Paige is so hungry as she’s used to such large meals, but her body won’t need this many calories anymore which is why we gradually reduce by 1/4 increments
I wipe her teats after each feeding and spot clean any abrasions from her ravenous pups with a diluted chlorohexidine solution. She has been so happy to be just resting comfortably on the cool tile in the hot afternoons.

❤️Please share, donate, apply to foster or adopt Paiges babies ❤️

Born May 15 they will be ready to go to their forever families by the week of July 10th as they are still nursing and weaning from momma

Since their arrival from northern reach network we have not gotten any donations or supplies to assist with their care. Normally I’m quite stocked up and purchase everything myself but, taking care of puppies is a 24/7 job and I’m taking care of momma and all 12 pups myself! Running a rescue independently is emotionally and physically draining, I work part time in veterinary medicine in a clinic to still keep up my anesthesia, emergency and surgical preparation skills. Before and after work, I tend to cleaning, feeding, doing dishes, playing with, walking adult dogs and doing unending laundry. I cannot leave the house for more than 6 hours at a time and can’t keep a full time job because of it.

Expenses for the last 3 weeks have exceeded $1700.00 for food and supplies 🤯

I also have 0 sponsors for flights meaning it’s harder to take in dogs from Manitoba when their flight is $380 and they arrive without any vet care. This adds to their cost very quickly.

Living in my moms basement after selling my house to be able to care for rescues is my reality - I couldn’t find a rental house or anything that would allow pets let alone rescue dogs, and was not able to buy on my own. Any donations I get go towards my veterinary fees, food and supplies and costs to keep rescuing- I hope to be able to get a property where I can accommodate more dogs at a time without overcrowding.

Help me save more dogs like Paige and her family 🤗Donate, foster, adopt or share today to help these gorgeous babies find their forever families here in southern Ontario

🍼Momma Paige update 🥹
best momma award goes to Paige 🏆
Beautiful and sweeter than can be, she has been tirelessly taking care of her little ones and is feeling so much better since her bath. She let me do her nails and really enjoyed her shampooing massage🛁 we go for short walks 4-6 times per day depending on her nursing schedule and she loves greeting everyone
Her ears are completely back to normal and her skin is looking much better. She’s currently eating about 16 cups of Purina proplan puppy daily, we have already gone through 35lbs since her arrival!
Donate, Adopt, or Foster links here https://linktr.ee/ultimuttpetrescue
Paige is gradually putting some weight on and her babies are all plump and perfect. I change their blankets twice daily unless additional is needed and wipe the walls of their plexi glass enclosure with a natural and diluted cleaner. They have a heated mat under their blankets for additional warmth 💕

Some baby wipes arrived today from Amazon, thank you so much 🙏 as the babies grow, I begin wiping them for mom to help reduce the amount of waste she has to consume 🤢
Everyone is much cleaner this way as well and this gets them used to basic handling early. First nail trims will be in about 2 weeks 💅

Paige will be heading to her foster - to- adopt family when she is finished weaning her babies 🥹 we are so excited for her to begin her journey.

❤️Welcomed with open arms ❤️
🐾🐾🐾 Paige (Peggy) and her family of 12 made quite the journey all the way from Sandy Lake, Ontario; for an idea of just how far north, she was about 1400km north east of Toronto. 🚚They were driven across the province by volunteers and cared for by until transferred to us ❤️ Here, they will be in a home setting, provided proper nutrition and a clean environment with consistent monitoring and care given to mama and her 6 boys and 6 girls, all chunky little robust pups, she is doing a wonderful job

😔As soon as she came out of the crate I saw how bad her fleas +/- allergies were. I noticed a chronic ear infection bilaterally and noted that she was riddled with what looks like tick bites and various scars from an evidently difficult past, being only 10-11 months old herself. Despite this, she is the sweetest and most genuine gal you will meet. She is extremely affectionate and her demeanour is calm and collected. 100% potty trained and perfect for handling, I was able to clean her ears, check her teeth and even shave some of the fur around her tail base to keep her clean. She will need a 4dx in about 6 weeks to see if she was exposed to any tick borne disease while up north
She has had her initial DA2PP, been fully dewormed and treated for any external parasites. Her ears are already improving after 2 days of treatment 🤗
On leash she is an angel, she actually leans into you adoringly, she doesn’t pull when in stride and is quick to do her business.
🐶🐱Neutral with other dogs, previous exposure to cats and kids for about 2-3 weeks in her foster before travelling to south Ontario.

🩷Cleo is ADOPTED🩷
Adorable and as sweet as she looks, Cleo is approximately 8 weeks old and was living as a stray under a porch in a small and remote community in Pukatawagan, MB . Given a second chance at life, they were found without a mama by a school teacher who took her & her siblings in and gave them a safe place to stay until she could get them the care they needed.
A bit smaller than her sister at 5.5lbs currently, she is extremely snuggly and playful. She is sleeping in her pen throughout the night and often goes into her crate on her own. Big appetite for a little boop, she and Patra love foraging on their enrichment mats for meal times, which are currently three times per day!
✅initial DA2PP done, complete deworming and flea prevention given. Microchip with registration & a 6 week pet insurance trial included.
✅Spay is apart of the adoption fee and is booked at 6 months of age at our Hamilton or Kitchener clinic locations; I get additional pain medication & cone collar to go home

💛Patra is ADOPTED 💛
🥰This little girl came all the way from Pukatawagon, MB a remote native community. Patra and her siblings were living under a school teachers porch who thankfully took them all in and seeked help. These little babies are so lucky and I am so happy to be able to take care of them and help find their forever families. She is approximately 8 weeks old, 6 lbs and will be approximately 40-50lbs full grown. She is likely a mixed breed of Canadian Eskimo dog, shepherd, husky, retriever, and more but we wouldn’t know for sure without a DNA test!
❓We can only estimate adult size based on growth and age correlation and age based on adult dentition eruption. In general this is quite accurate!

🦴Patra is exceptionally food motivated and very playful, she loves to explore and is the brave one out of the two sisters. Pen and p*e pad training going superb, sleeping through the night with no issues. She will come with her collar, harness, leash and favourite toy, as well as food for transition.
✅has her initial DA2PP vaccine, deworming done and flea prevention given. She is eating purina pro plan puppy kibble
✅microchip and registration, 6 week trial of pet insurance upon adoption and a $20 Rens Pet voucher

➡️➡️Please share to help her find her forever family 🥹

Eager for adventure, beautiful Nikita is still looking for her forever family! She has settled in and acclimated to routine with ease since arriving. She has a sweet but silly demeanour and has been around young children in Manitoba before transferred to our care by . Nikita loves attention, is very playful and is extremely cuddly. She is 42lbs and is an elkhound mix, she is pretty much full grown.
Nikita is wonderful with other dogs and enjoys playing with our younger dogs, she is respectful of our senior dogs and is great with new comers as well. Extremely curious, on her walks we explore and introduce her to common city things like garbage bins and parked cars, she alerts you of these things and I show her they are ok. She relaxes and approaches with confidence. Her leash walking is going great, she knows sit, come and no. The focus is really more on routine for the first few months but she is very smart! 100% potty trained and crate trained, she can be left in her crate for 4-6 hours at a time as long as she had ample play time, walks and potty opportunity before left for her nap time.
She currently sleeps in her crate overnight.
Favourite treat: cod skin chips 🐟
✅ Spayed and up to date on her vaccines DA2PP and rabies, dewormed and Simparica Trio dose to go home for continued monthly prevention. Microchip with registration and 6 weeks pet insurance trial signed up on adoption day!

🌻NIKITA🌻

🐾Since arriving she has settled in so well, we took it really slow the first few days just because of the traumatic events she recently endured. She’s now so happy to see everyone and loves all of my dogs, from big to small she is a happy go lucky and playful puppy. She’s not very active, she just wants to be with you and is happy to hang out inside or outside. She just plays with her toys- she has favourites already! She’s just precious. 🥹she also knows come and sit. Nikita is perfect for handling and loves to give hugs and be cuddled, you would never know she spent the first 6 months of her life as a stray on a native reserve in northern Manitoba. She is a smaller female, only about 42lbs at 8 months old and likely an elkhound mix, really just a ball of fluff. We are so thankful for the community members who stepped in when they saw her being chased by a pack of larger male dogs; this is their reality without access to Veteirnary care with females going into heat every 6 months, they don’t always want to breed but the males can smell their hormones and will often attack them to mate.
Welcome to Ultimutt where you are safe, sound and loved.
Nikita sleeps through the whole night, she doesn’t need a crate but does sleep in there sometimes on her own. In addition she is completely potty trained and can do stairs, up and down with no issues. She follows me in the yard and in the house so I actually stopped using her leash after 24 hours in my care.
Nikita is extremely food motivated and has an iron tummy, she can handle all the fancy treats and chews, she loves beef esophagus and tartar buster bones, sweet potatoes, salmon canned food, you name it!

💸adoption fee $850

Nikita is spayed, fully vaccinated and is up to date with deworming/ flea /tick prevention. 4dx negative. Simparica trio dose to go home!
🛁💅Freshly bathed, nails done, microchip with registration & 6 weeks of pet insurance included

♥️Moose is ADOPTED ♥️
A loveable puppy, Moose is an approximately 8 month old bulldog mastiff mix who was found as a stray in Brampton. Its unreal the number of stray pups they bring in He has been there for a few months now and is losing out on the experiences of life as a puppy! He is already a big boy at 75lbs and growing, he would do well with older children that are dog savvy as he is quite rambunctious and has a long tail.
He is food motivated and gentle with snacks, he loves to explore and of course do his zoomies when given the opportunity.
When I met Moose he was very focused on his handler and very excited to get out of his kennel. He is a moderate to high energy pup once accustomed to routine. He will need a large yard to run and play. 🌳
🦴He is food motivated and has no allergies at this time (yet another bully with no allergies it’s amazing), he is eating royal canin adult mixed with gastrointestinal at the shelter. He exhibits no guarding /food aggressive behaviour and appears neutral with other dogs. A dog similar in size and energy for a playmate would be great, or he would do well as the only dog in the home as well. He is still a puppy himself, but of course thinks he is a lap dog once he settles down with you.
Due his to his energy level and size, definitely no cats🚫
⭐️Continued obedience and socialization after he settles in will be necessary to acclimate him to the big world and teach him what is expected of him inside the home.

✔️I am donating a $20 Rens gift card and box of Purina Calming Care to his adopters which I will mail directly to you upon adoption! Please share Moose to help him find his forever family 🥹

‼️Check shelters in Ontario for adoptable dogs, there are so many in need & shelters are at capacity

Questions? Feel free to email [email protected] or CALL brampton animal services; applications via the city website, you can book a time to meet him!

💙Blue is ADOPTED 💙
➡️Please share Blue to help him find his perfect match 🥹
🐾Blue is a very good boy looking for a quiet home where he can be the focus of attention. This poor boy was surrendered when he kept escaping his backyard, he was left mostly unattended for long periods of time outside.
Blue is a 3 year old Siberian Husky, he is absolutely gorgeous and actually, the sweetest guy. He deserves more attention than he gets! He is nervous with new people and physically tries to remove himself from any introductory situations. 🥺We have no idea what happened to him in his previous home, his owner was a male- he is fine with the handler at the shelter and actually warmed up to me right away. I was told this is the first time they have seen Blue do this!🥹
I strongly feel he needs a female owner, a quiet household with no other pets or children would be very ideal, he needs time to build his confidence and trust with his forever person. Once he does this he will acclimate into such an amazing companion. He is seemingly neutral with other dogs so with safe and proper introductions, a confident female dog may benefit him in transitioning into a new household.
Blue needs a backyard and someone who enjoys going for hikes, walks and can spend time with him. Once settled in, he loves to do zoomies and play with a ball or rope toy. He is not a loud husky, which is definitely a trait a lot of them can have, he is just a timid and misunderstood boy
He is potty trained and knows some basic commands, he is pretty good with walking on his leash but will need continued obedience and socialization once he has settled in with his new family

How did he adjust to me so quickly?? Even with my bright pink jacket 😂I kneeled down not looking at him while talking to the trainer. I made no notion and showed no interest toward Blue until he came to check me out. Using a positive and gentle tone he was easily coaxed to come and play with me and take treats. He was coming up for pets and snuggles in minutes 🫶

🌸Lee is ADOPTED 🌸
Little miss explorer over here thinks she’s all grown up already! With an agenda to follow, this little girl is on the move and always ready to play. Lee loves to cuddle like her sister but is a bit more independent, she saunters around the yard on her own and sunbathes on our kuranda pet beds, following the lead of our other dogs.
She was a bit more shy at first, but proven to be more spunky and outgoing with new things than her sister now that she has adjusted. It’s always interesting to watch their dynamic develop as they mature.

Lee would be wonderful with children and other pets including dogs and cats, she is only 10 weeks old and is still just a baby. She is so keen, food driven and knows some basic commands we have been working on such as come, sit and wait.

🐾If you are considering a puppy and this is your first dog, enjoy contact with our vet technician for questions along the way. I will strongly reccomend and reinforce pet insurance and an obedience trainer who benefits your relationship with your pet. This can be very subjective since there is no certification required to be a dog trainer! 🤯

💸Adoption fee is $650 which includes her spay at 6 months of age at one of our clinic locations in Kitchener or Hamilton. I also pay for additional medication to go home to keep them comfy for recovery and provide tailored post operative instructions ⭐️
✔️She has had two DA2PP vaccines, deworming and topical prevention with us (two doses each)
✔️Lee just like our other pups come with her new harness, collar, leash, food for transition, a benebone and favourite stuffy, microchip with registration and a 6 week pet insurance trial signed up the day of adoption. Rens pet voucher $20 also included

Do you think Lee would be suitable for your family? Please email [email protected] for questions or apply online via Jotform https://form.jotform.com/230573065798062
