This is so much fun. Tia is a 7-month-old Yorkie who has already completed two Puppy Play classes and she has just graduated Beginner Life Skills. For her next adventure in training Tia is signed up for our Train & Play for Teens under 23 lbs. Yay, Tia. 😍
We are thrilled when we get feedback from our clients. This is Bea. She was scared of just about everything and one of the things she was afraid of was playing. It was hearbreaking to see her so fearful that she couldn’t play. Her mom called us and we enrolled her into our Anxious and Fearful Program. And here are the results after a lot of training and patience - Bea playing with her Snuffle like there was never an issue. Way to go Bea!
At some point in your dog life a dog cone or recovery collar may be needed at home or at the vet. It’s always a great idea to help your dog get used to wearing one by doing fun exercises before your dog actually needs to wear one for healing. It’s never too late to start.
Learning Games starts January 22nd at 2:45 PM : https://dogsmart.dogbizpro.com/public/registration/index.aspx?schedule=2768
Dog's love to learn! Your dog will be encouraged to experience the world through their paws and nose. Explore and capture your dog's creativity and talents. Please bring a matt for your dog to settle on, some bite size food and a non squeaking toy
Prerequisite: Your dog must be over the age of 5 months
Great training by @murphythedogyvr at his Anxious/Fearful Out & About class. Fear and anxiety can take a long time to resolve so lots of time, patience, positivity and trust is needed to help manage a dogs fears. Always remember to celebrate all the successes along the way, big or small, and remember don’t be embarrassed to seek help. The sooner you get started, the sooner you will make progress. Thanks for sharing @murphythedogyvr. Keep up the great training!

Week 2 of Out & About Class with @dogsmarttraining 🤓🐕 Not too bad for having 2 doggy classmates 100m away! And many other pedestrians and dogs walking past. Always forget how smol he actually is 🥺#fearfulanxiousdog #muzzletraining

Terrific “balance focus follow” exercise from our instructor Tracey with her daughter and their dog Delta. Great connection/bond between these two. 👏

Such an awesome team. 👏 Ella with a very impressive run at a recent agility class. Way to go you two! You nailed it. 👌🙌👍

Repost from @anlast - Ella doing what she does best! #agility #agilitydog
We are at Vancouver Animal Services all day until 4p doing demos. Here's Oscar in his practice run. Come down and visit us and tour the facility and see all the other fun activities today.
Kane and Mary doing their thing. .. This #aussie can go. And is a talker too ...! This event is called Gamblers. The handler must stay outside of the yellow ribbon around certain equipment you see in this video. It's difficult because the handler must maintain a certain amount of distance from the dog and this make the level of difficulty greater. All in all this was s very good event.
Dawn and Leo - Learning Games
Terrific video from our Learning Games class taught by Tracey. This is Dawn and Leo. Leo was a rescue and has come leaps and bounds in confidence. It took Dawn two weeks to teach Leo to pivot and he wouldn't touch the plate at all. As you can see all their hard work truly paid off. The clicking sound you hear is from using a clicker device that helps mark the dogs positive behaviour and then the dog is rewarded with yummy yummy treats. Well Done!!!
This adorable puppy is Pear with her mom is Marta. Fantastic "leave it" training at Tracey's Puppy SmartStart class
Let's get this Monday started.
Stop! Not now please! :-)
Teeter time. Hunny and Katie doing a great job learning the teeter at kids agility.
