God Painter: The Art of Aura T. Pithart

Pithart is known as the GOD PAINTER and is an artist that hails from Vancouver BC Canada. She has now painted in Vancouver, Tokyo, and Toronto.

Aura claims to have had a Religious Stigmata in the year 2003 which in turn inspired her to put her hands to work painting her first canvas, her work is not pre- contrived and she attacks the canvas with no prior idea or concept of what it will be. "I get this feeling a pressure inside and I have to get it out I’ll pull out my canvas and paints and get to work, some pieces can take months some only hours, once the painting is finished I can sense it. I place it about 10 to 15 feet across from me in a room that has good lighting, and then I pull up a chair. I can spend days looking at my new painting sometimes weeks and eventually I can see what it “IS” and the paintings name will come into my mind. I could never paint another piece that looked the same for my works are channels from a creator I have yet to meet. When I was living in St Clair a small suburb of Toronto, I painted *The Crucifixion I am not religious but it was so clear to me what it was once it was completed, I had no doubt. If you look at this piece you will see the abstract body of Christ and his chest, the wood of the cross, the peace dove flying under his arms, you can also see one arm stretched down to Earth tipped in green representing the life force of Earth and renewal even in the Death process, the head of Christ the pink face and blue head that are unified at the top of the cross are pierced with a blue wand to represent the sword of consciousness of humanity attacking the purity of GODS thought"
In the year of 2007 Aura moved to Toronto Canada to paint and to enrich her knowledge in filmmaking. While living in the heart of St Clair West Toronto 8 new pieces were created, all on recycled canvas she purchased at The Goodwill and Salvation Army Thrift Stores “Once my second hand canvas is purchased I carry it home, strip it of the previous work, re-prime and then a new painting begins"
“Toronto is the first time that I ever attempted to paint on second hand canvas previously I had only purchased premade, preprimed, fresh canvas. I have to say that the size and age of some of these second hand frames that I have worked on have made each piece a challenge but I truly believe each canvas comes to me for a reason"
As an artist Aura currently works in oils, acrylics, and ink her paintings completed in Toronto include The Crucifixion, St. Clair, Ossington, The Gaian Mind, Electric Service, Toronto and Orphic. In 2008 returning home to Vancouver after her year in Toronto Aura quickly began work on new fresh canvas producing three new powerful pieces East Van Alley 71, Before Christ, and Misanthropist, she is planning a move to London to paint over seas where she hopes to expand her artistic works into photography, film, sound and light medium. Aura has studied the following: Recording Engineering at Columbia Academy School of Broadcast Arts; Independent Film Production & Directing for Film at Langara College; Classical Animation & Final Cut Pro Editing at Emily Carr University of Art and Design; and she continues to study new ideas and technologies to further her future artistic statements. On the other side of the fence Aura also refuses to take any type of drawing, sketching or painting scholastics and never has claiming it would disrupt the purity of the messages she receives by destroying the honesty and integrity of the channeling process. She notes 'When I am shooting a photograph or making a video I am using other transducers to communicate my work through but when I am painting I am only using my hands, heart, and God and those are primitive areas that will never need to be trained or regimented into a school of application for these works of mine are in their purest form already"
She has been a UBCP/ACTRA union member since the age of 6 and has performed in countless theatre, television, commercial, and experimental art and student films. Most recently she was accepted as a member of VACA the Vancouver Artists Collective

Aura (God Painter) lives alone has never been married or had offspring but does have two cats. She considers herself a misanthropist and she states "People really do not understand how reclusive I am they think I am just talking out my ass honestly I haven't seen a relative, been to a party, or visited a friend in years...really there is no amount of money or celebrity that could make me want to have to get ready and sit in a restaurant or club and to chat about some mindless bu****it, after you have had a Stigmata everything else just seems pretty uninteresting." Aura has not watched T.V. or had cable in over 8 years but is an avid DVD film watcher. "I started as a principal child actor on set in Vancouver BC Canada appearing in early Canadian TV shows like The Beachcombers, Danger Bay, Dr Bundolo, various CBC productions and radio plays"
Later I also worked in Crew, 2nd Unit, and also Stunt, Stand-In, Photo Double, and as a Background performer. Each and everyday I logged on set over the years counting over 300 different productions has proved to be a great training ground. "SOME SETS AURA HAS WORKED ON"

"I am pretty analytical with cinema I grew up on set and I can tell you frame by frame where the problems are in the script, casting, or shot structure. I think that producers need a critical wake up call and had better start placing way more scrutiny when creating a project. Every feature film is like a "Mind Imprint" on humans (the audience) and if your going to try to justify a 250 million dollar film budget that could feed countless starving third world nations it better be a pretty amazing piece of brain candy or at least empowering to world progress. Art should carry a responsibility for it's Creator"

"All the other Stigmatics I have researched have just laid around like big pigs baking in media attention and pronouncing their loyalty to God….. disgusting….gross …and not what I wanted or believe God would want if there really is a God"
What I thought was “Hey God would have touched my ear lobe if I was supposed to do something with it but I got blood on my hands so I thought heal or paint and I knew it was 2003 and not 13AD or for that matter 12 BC and painting would fit into the intellectual climate of humans right now and they might see painting as something. If I walked around trying to heal people they might try to stick me on Prozac or some other drug and lock me up. So I was smart and chose brushes to see if God would speak through them and I think God has, there have been quite a few of my pieces that have revealed what could be messages within them. Aura (God Painter) has worked at many jobs some of which include telemarketer, waitress in over 20 restAURAnts, janitor, as a floral arranger in over 5 different flower stores, dishwasher, software company representative, actor, receptionist, promo representative, security guard, tree planter, bartender, administrator, logisitics worker, fitness trainer, karaoke host, focus group presenter, trade show host, television and film crew worker, store clerk for The Bay, Woodwards, Eatons, Sears, a sales person in over 5 different Bridal Retail outlets and many many more places. She claims 'Every job I have worked at even when just scrubbing toilets for 10 bucks an hour has taught me something deep about humanity. I have been able to identify how everything works and is connected globally and how each socio-economic demographic lives and works and what they need and what is and isn't working out there. Most don't know what the hell I am when I arrive to work for their company but they certainly do after I am gone! I always laugh when people assume I haven't really worked hard and done my research out there believe me at anytime I could have sold out to dual -incum and I could have played the role to get what most women do but I could never do it I have too much respect for men and humanity and would have never gathered the depth of knowledge that I carry and share if I had sold out or settled. The path to enlightenment is never an easy one it's brutal sometimes I never thought I would make it but I have and my thumb print is out there in many arenas and my work stands strong"


Aura mentions a recent happy encounter 'I was walking off the transit platform and some kid maybe 18 years old taps me and says "(Hey are the cops down there?)" pointing to the transit terminal. I said yeah to the kid because I had just walked by them a few seconds before. This kid was really thankful that I warned him because he was going to get arrested for not paying for his train ticket probably because he was too broke and they were looking for him for running out of the terminal. I have to say that it made me feel good that this kid would stop me as a friend out of all the hundreds of people walking through that train station it made me feel connected and like people can finally see what I am"
