Dogs all over England are smiling today. As of Feb 1st 2024 remote electric (shock) collars will be banned in England. Thank you to everyone who campaigned for 10 years to get this done! The dogs thank you!

Coming when called is an important behavior. In Manners class we teach them to come away from high value food. This helps to strengthen the behavior.

Bo learning how to sit while someone approaches. Dogs love to jump when people approach them. A sit stay can be taught instead. Bo is learning that remaining in a sit results in a treat and a greeting. Jumping causes the person to retreat.

It is important that you teach fearful dogs that their world is safe. Identify their fears and show them that the scary thing now predicts fantastic food. Changing fear is neither easy nor fast but with patience, love and persistence there is a very good chance that you will see improvement. Feel free to share this post if you find it useful.
