Such a great resource, if anyone is struggling with the cost to spay or neuter your pet companion, please take a look.

We are going to have two open houses for people to come and see the clinic/trailer and learn more about what a low cost spay and neuter clinic looks and works like.

Although we think this is a cool idea, it doesn't work if the community doesn't know about the resource. Can I ask you a favour? Please share this poster to all your friends and groups.

Please take extra care of yourselves and your pets today. Remember pets (especially birds) are very sensitive to smoke.

If you do not need to be outside please stay in, and please exercise animals outdoors once the smoke has settled.

We are so excited to tell everyone who has come in asking, that we FINALLY have a very limited amount of Farmina in store 🥳

We are testing it out and if all goes great (like we know it will 😛) we will add more skus. However, IF you don’t see the kind you typically get we CAN special order it in for you.

If you are unsure of what Farmina is, it’s a highly palatable food created by vets in Italy. It is an INCREDIBLE food that even some of the pickiest animals have not turned their noses up to 👏🏼.

With the unfortunate closure of Pets West and A Pets Life, we have had many new clients in our store the past couple of weeks and others that are looking for a place they can rely on.

If you are looking for a new pet store we would love to welcome you to ours, and to all the new clients whom have visited, welcome and we hope you find your new home with us.

We carry a wide variety of products to suite your pets needs and if we don’t carry it, please ask an associate if it can be special ordered in. We try to accommodate all requests.

I also know that in the past there hasn’t been the greatest name for us, we have new management, a fresh outlook with a view of the “animals come first ALWAYS! All animals in the store are very well taken care of and have access to incredible vet care.

Dinner time around here and can you guess what we may be feeding? It’s protein night and we have them on a rotating schedule of protein and fruits.

In this dish you will find cooked ground turkey, chicken, sweet potato and apple organic baby food, 18% protein plain yogurt, kale, apple sauce and bee pollen.

How incredible are gerbils? Mom and Dad will help take care of and raise babies ❤️

They are amazing parents, and all around just very cool animals.

Gerbils are incredibly social, so need to be in a pair or more depending on gender. Gerbils live 3 - 4 years, love to shred and dig, so a deep substrate layer with a large enclosure is required to keep these guys happy and enriched.

We have a complete bio active enclosure set up at the front of our store with our gerbils, Bambi and Thumper housed in it. You can get a really great idea of what they love to do, by just glancing in.

We have 2 pairs of female gerbils (the pair in this video included) coming available on April 11th, if you would like to earn more about them and how to set up and AMAZING enclosure.

With April in full swing, it means we have new sales in store!

This months feature end cap is Small Animals, with a furry friend inspecting of course.

Everything on the end cap is on sale with exception to the ferret (who is also awaiting her forever home BUT is not on sale) and the fish tank kit. The fish tank kit is a raffle, the deal is, make a purchase in store and have your name entered into the raffle, it’s just that easy!

Happy Good Friday and start to Easter Weekend

Check this out!!!!!

Yesterday we set up our bio active enclosure with our gerbils Bambi and Thumper. There are 3 tiers, lots of activity and enrichment and they love it!

We have used aspen, plantation soil, paper shavings, and cardboard to make the layers. We then added springtails and dairy cow isopods. The layer that the “bugs” are in we also added calcium, and fish flakes so they had what they needed as currently there is no waste.

This was such a fun build and we are so excited to have people come in and check it out.

Did you know in February we took in not one, not two but SEVEN, yes SEVEN sugar gliders!

They were not in great shape, one had a sheathed tail, another without a tail all together, underweight and the list continues.

We have been working hard for the past 6 weeks to get them healthy again, and today the 4 males went in to be neutered, checked over and our tailless boy had his last vertebrae amputated and sutured so it could heal.

And we have to say a HUGE thank you to Elk Lake Veterinary, Dr. Petra Warnock and the rest of the team for helping us today and ensuring that we no longer have any of these precious babies breeding unnecessarily.

Here are a few pictures of the babies, next week (as long as everyone heals up) we will officially put a trio up for adoption. We reserve the right to turn away homes they may not be the perfect fit, as these gliders are incredibly specific and require a VERY specific and knowledgeable home.
