Well done to our Scentwork Graduates! 🐕
Very proud of our puppy graduate Bella.
Here she is showing her amazing skills at ‘leave’.
Well done gorgeous girlie 👏🥰
This week’s puppy homework was to teach them to leave a treat on their paw. Here’s little Marshall smashing it!
Good boy Marshal!! 🥰👏 #puppytraining #labrador #labradorpuppy #puppyclasses #teachingleave
Who says you can’t teach a spaniel to walk to heel?
Here’s little puppy Rocco learning to stay on ‘the magic circle’. He knows that by staying there mom will reward him with a treat , which is why he’s looking up at her 🥰
If you want to know how to achieve this , have a look at our YouTube video on how to walk on a loose lead.
Happy training!

All puppies love to explore their world through their mouths (they’re like our human hands), so will naturally take stones and fiddle about with them in their mouths.
DO NOT keep taking them away from their mouth, as you could cause your dog to associate you with negative things when it has something in its mouth, thus creating some potential behavioural problems:
1.- Making your dog possessive and s/he hiding when it has anything in its mouth.
2.- Aggression towards people when it has anything in its mouth:
3.- Taking things as a means of attention seeking.
4.- Swallowing the item to avoid the conflict of having something taken away (and this is the exact problem you wanted to avoid!).
So, just keep half an eye on your puppy and see what it does when it has a pebble in its mouth. Most dogs will do exactly what little Ylva is doing here and just play around with it in her mouth for a little while, then spit it out and move unto the next thing.
They all grow out of it, so once you see that your puppy spits it out , then just ignore this behaviour and don’t take it or give your dog any attention for it.
Next will be larger stones and sticks! 🙄 Same principle applies, ignore it and they will grow out of it (but first make sure you observe that they spit it out). Never play with sticks with your dog by the way!
This is one of the biggest behavioural problems I get called on with puppies, so take heed and avoid the problem altogether.
There are 3 boys left ready to go to a special home on 8th September. They are Bedlington - whippet cross. 🥰🐶
And this is what ‘go to bed’ should look like! 🥰
Here’s the gorgeous Harley understanding exactly what mom wants, because mom and dad are doing an amazing job training her. And she’s only 6 months old!
Have fun with your dog and make obedience training just a set of games that dogs love to do! Spend your time training your dog in a fun and positive way and your doggie will also understand and be happy to go beddie byes. 😊
There’s a little video in our YouTube channel on how to teach this. 😊
Home made air con unit for the dogs . I’ve ice packs (or ice) in a bowl of cold water, in front of a fan.
Keeps them nice and cool! 😊
Remember!! No walking the dogs in this weather - no matter what!!
They don’t need a walk, they need to stay cool.
Keep your doggies safe. Xx
