It's hot hot hot, but never fear we have reintroduced our paddling pool so dogs can cool off. Splish splash as they jump into the pool. We shall continue with the pool during the hottest days. Sorry humans dogs only. if your dogs do not like the water, just put some water on the back of their neck as it acts as a coolant.
We have also recently given the field a hair cut, nice and short limits the risk of ticks and certainly no adders.
A day like today the views of exmoor are stunning, no masses of tourist here unlike the coastal areas and tourist hot spots.

Two more trees added over last 2 days. Over time these will provide important shade for your dog. Grass all cut too. Looks like a proper park now not just a dog off lead field.
Many people love our field not just for exercising their dog, but a great space to relax and unwind.
We're less than a mile from the start of exmoor national park, from the dog field you get great views of exmoor.

Have our field users noticed how beautiful the field is looking right now. For decades the whole 6 acres has been known as the dry meadow, during winter months you can see why with very little mud and in summer we get beautiful buttercups you see now.
It's truly stunning.

A good reason to visit the devon dog field at Bratton fleming right now. Your dog can safely go off the lead in a secure environment with no sheep or horses on any of our land. A stress free walk. Just watch your dog run and play.

With spring upon us and more of us looking to explore new locations with our furry friends, it's important to remember to check whether your dog is allowed to be off-lead.

Many places have signs up saying, “dogs must be kept on lead”, and it's essential to follow these rules for the safety and enjoyment of everyone.

It is also really important to keep your dog on a lead around farm animals, even if they have a good recall, particularly around sheep as many of them are heavily pregnant or have young at this time of year.

It’s good to note that dog owners who do not control their dogs around livestock can face fines of up to £1000 as well as a jail term of six months!

If you're walking your dog in a new location, please keep an eye out for livestock signage and if you're unsure, please do the right thing and keep your dogs on a lead.

I do hate making posts like this but when somebody has allowed their dog to chew our equipment it is just not on. This happened on Tuesday 23rd. The owner must of known their dog was doing this. What is more disappointing is that it is in more then one place. So a £10 visit has caused over £100 pounds of damage let alone our time to replace, fix and repair. Even the posts holding the tunnel in place have been pulled out of the ground which is really puzzling.
I would really like the person to come forward and own up.
If we witness any dog damaging our equipment and you have just allowed them too do it, you will be stopped from visiting our field which is a shame for your dogs.
These incidents just ruin it for everyone else

XL Bully update.

At the Devon Dog field we believe every dog should be able to run around off lead and unmuzzled.
Obviously new rules have / are coming into place regarding XL Bullys and we wanted to share our rules for visitors with XL bullies. Some of these rules are stipulations from our own field insurance cover.
Just to reassure you all XL bullys are welcome at the Devon Dog Field as we are not a public space, the field is hired on a sole use basis.
Your dog must be on a short lead and muzzled from your vehicle and into the field.
Once in the field and the gate is shut with the bolt across you may remove your dogs muzzle and lead. They can run freely off the lead in a secure environment.
However they must :-
Be registered with the index of exempted dog (IED) (proof required please)
Be Neutered & microchipped
You must have your own public liability insurance for your dog (proof required please)
It must be 1 handler per XL bully Handler/ dog ratio 1:1. So if two XL bullys in your household then there must be 2 handlers (over 18’s). If you have 1 XL bully and another dog in your household then you must have 1 handler for the XL bully and 1 handler for the other dog.
The field can only be hired for one household /vehicle (no sharing)
We also have a metal gate that leads into the parking area of the field, we would be very grateful if you could close this too whilst in the field.
Recent offers open to all. Book 1 session get 1 half price (December sessions) or book 4 sessions get 30% off.
Normal 50 minute hire is £10
