Everyone this is Ralph! When he first came to me he was very afraid of men. He had been groomed by females all his life because of this, but as you can see he's a big boy! Referred to me for his size, the owners were worried he would bite and react to a man doing the groom. Several sessions later you can see I'm more friend than foe now! Going at Ralph's pace we've broken through those barriers and can now groom him without any reactivity! Almost got the opposite problem of him being too friendly and just wanting to play! π₯° if you have a difficult dog or know anyone who does get in touch ππΆ

Alot of people ask me, "Do you groom aggressive dogs?"
This is Noodle, she's a rescue who has had a difficult life including seclusion, confinement and even a house fire before going to her amazing current owner. The clip is from a video I sent to her owner to show how she is being groomed which she has kindly let me share with all of you. It's important to remember it isn't Noodles fault that she is reactive.
Noodle doesn't let me lift her to put her on the table so we groom on the floor, calmly removing her matts at her pace not mine. Letting Noodle get up and move away when she wants so she doesn't feel trapped or cornered.
This was her first groom with me and as far I'm aware anyone, so my aim was to just get her matts out and make her comfortable, no need for prim and proper with a dog who doesn't enjoy the process.
Some groomers may disagree with this approach, say I needed to muzzle her, strap her up every which way so she can't bite, the reality is a muzzle would make her more reactive and getting one on in the first place would prove a challenge! I work at the dogs pace not mine which has worked for me so far and help me build a relationship with my dogs β€
If you have an aggressive dog and would like them groomed contact me and we can work together to make your dog comfortable β€
