It's been a while!

I've been super busy with my tattoo apprenticeship (you can see the updates here! - )

But I've found a little bit of time to sort through some bits and pieces for my Etsy shop, including this goat skull I found last year! Complete with its lower jaw and spine, this could be turned into something amazing! (I had a few plans for it, but I feel like I've neglected it long enough)

Its still in the natural state I found it in, when I first found it, I did have it soak in a tub of antibacterial washing up liquid, but since then, I've not had time to scrub it clean or further whiten it! (Although the sun did a pretty good job at that before I found it!)

This rabbit skull will be coming to the Bristol Alternative Market this Sunday!
It was found broken and was missing all its teeth, so i replaced everything with metal. I just need to cut and paint the base and it'll be ready to go! 🖤

Me and my two favourite people went for a walk in Devon yesterday and it was amazing!
We found 13 sheep skull (it would've been 15, but two were far too recent for a 2.5hour car trip home!)
I have so many pictures I want to share, but I'll just start with these.

Enjoy me running towards a skull and the last one was me and my friend being very excited to start the adventure!

We only walked just over 6 miles, but carrying multiple bin bags of skulls and skeletons over boggy fields really tires you out!

I decided to venture out further to a place I've never been before and I had an amazing day! I spent hours looking on Google maps searching for a new place to walk, and one place had multiple animal in the woodland by the roadside, and one that I saw on the maps from 8 months ago, I found today! (The second deer skull)

These are the first fallow deer skulls I've ever found and I can't wait to go back after christmas after the ferns die down.
I also came across some mushrooms which I had to photograph!

I finally finished up these two pieces last night, and I'm really happy with how they turned out!

Both are roe deer skulls that were originally on a shield, and they've been put into deep frames, surrounded by lichen and dried lavender 🪻

During the summer, I came across lots of full crab shells in a marsh by the sea, and I had to take a few with me! I finally got around to making something using one, and I love it!

I will be keeping this one (not what I expected when I started making it), but I am in the process of making more that will be available!

A few days ago, I was gifted this full starling skeleton that was found in an attic!
It's currently in hydrogen peroxide to whiten and clean and I plan to rebuild it and put it inside a large dome!

Yesterday morning, I got a message that a family member had found a tawny owl and kept it for me.

This is the first owl I will ever be working on and my second bird of prey. (My first was a buzzard, and I've rebuilt the skeleton)

I am fortunate enough to have a mounted tawny owl that was gifted to me by my Grandad when I was little, and it was one of the first things in my collection.

This Saturday, I will be at Paulton's annual Party in the Park!

This is a little different from the markets I usually do, but I thought it would be a good opportunity to introduce myself and my business in my own village!

I've always enjoyed going to markets and events, so I'm looking forward to seeing some familiar faces and show people what I do.

I will mainly be bringing larger bones, mystery bags, pellets, and some other fun pieces - this event for me will be more about education rather than decor, and I'm very excited about it!

I went on a last minute trip yesterday, and it was a great day!
I found a few bones, a broken duck skull, and lots of crabs! If it wasn't for the heat, we would've been there for a lot longer (and would've found more)

I'll be going on a few trips on the first week of July, so I'm hoping to find a few skulls then!

This pretty little roe deer skull is available in my Etsy shop!
I found it in a wooded area by the side of the road, and it was the first time I've ever found a skull where the antlers had shed before it passed, but it was really interesting to see!

This old bottle, with the word "poisonous" on the top, has been filled with bones, teeth, jaws, antler tips, and some partial rodent skulls!

I spent the day clearing out some bits and pieces, and these were from one bag that I had forgotten about, so I decided to put it all onto my Etsy shop!

The skulls are under £20 and bundles are under £30! (Which I think is pretty good!)
I need to clear some space and make a little extra in time to move into mine and my Fiancées new home (which will hopefully go to plan)
So it's been a bit panic stations after realising how much I collected on my walks and forgot existed!

I just finished up these two beautiful horse legs 😍

They have both been mounted onto a piece of wood with a metal rod on the back.

I've been a bit quiet on here, but I am still creating and processing!

After the Summer Open Day at Glastonbury Abbey, I had to make a start on lots of new pieces as I almost sold out!

I'll get back to posting new makes very soon, and I hope it'll all be ready in time for the in June!

Thank you to everyone who came along yesterday, it was a great day!

Even though the rain decided to join us, over 4500 people still came through, and it was the most successful market I have done so far!

So many questions were asked, curiosity was radiating, and I was able to have lots of conversations with budding taxidermists, artists, and colletors.

I always love being able to answer questions and help people out, and to my surprise (and absolute joy) I was able to talk with a lot of young people, children and teenagers who were super interested in becoming taxidermists and how to become ethical taxidermists.
I was able to show them where to make the incision, how to clean and preserve it, and how to create the mould inside.
To see their faces light up when they realised I made everything made it all worth it.
One even said to me,

"You must be very proud to be able to bring everything you make to places like this to show people."

So a huge thank you to them all, and to the parents who raised such lovely people with curious and open minds and to respect the work that goes into everything. Even though I don't mind, none of you picked anything up or touched anything without asking.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you, everyone, for your support and kindness. It always outweighs the bad and makes me incredibly proud of what I do ❤️

And a massive thank you to everyone who helped me out on the day, you're life savers!

And it's complete! Standing just under one metre, this beautiful goat skull, spine, and pelvis has been attached to a handmade wooden stand, complete with rustic rope - which also runs through the whole spine.

This giant piece will be coming with me to Glastonbury on Monday, and if it doesn't find a home, it will be coming to the Bristol Alternative Market in June!

The last two pictures are from when I found it wrapped up in beautiful flowering weeds. There is a fair bit of damage to the vertebrae, as it was passed away due to a road accident.

I cleaned up the skeleton and rebuilt it, attached every vertebrae disc to each vertebrae, and was able to put them in order and attach the skull and jaw.
I can't wait to do something like this again 🖤

This sweet little vole is coming with me to the Summer Open Day at Glastonbury Abbey on Monday! (As well as a few other new taxidermy pieces!)

This little one was found on a walk and was in the middle of the path. As I was processing him, I found a few holes in his back, so it was presumably a bird or cat attack.

This is the second small mammal mount I've ever done, and I'm quite happy with how he came out! There are a few imperfections, but I can't expect it to be perfect second time round 🐭
