What a day at the joint NFRS & NERS Carlisle show on Saturday 🙈 I took some new kittens for their first day out and they’ve absolutely blown me away with the results.

Unfortunately we have lost two of Barracuda’s kittens on day 5. Sadly this is the less pleasant side of breeding and I am quite gutted about it but it is what it is. Very thankful for the remaining kittens and hope they continue to thrive 🖤

Days 6 and 8 for Jupiter’s kittens. Lots of pigment coming through and it is becoming clear that Jupiter has not obliged to my request for a mostly BBA litter 🤦‍♀️

Days 2 and 4 for Barracuda’s kittens. I was very obviously wrong about the varieties in her litter wasn’t I 🙈 Those two pale pink eyed babies were not something I expected to pop up!

A few hours after Jupiter had her kittens, the beautiful Beeghos Barracuda (black doe, NFRS Gold Champion & NERS Varieties Champion) also gave birth to a small but perfectly formed litter of 6 babies 🥰

Expecting black with a small chance of British blue.

On Tuesday 11th of June we have welcomed the long awaited litter from our 10 month old NFRS Platinum Champion British blue agouti doe, Beeghos Bullet Train To Jupiter.

This is such an exciting litter as there’s some cracking rats in the pedigree of both parents.

Mum and babies are doing very well and I’m excited to see how they develop. Expecting British blue agouti and British blue.

Another successful show done and dusted, this time at NERS Preston. A nice relaxed day in the company of all my favourite people 🥺 Here are the results:

These girls are half sisters by my lovely champagne buck Beeghos Butter Beer which makes these results extra special to me 🥺 It was Vibe’s first show (thank you to Gingerbread Rats for letting me have her!) and she absolutely smashed it! Rumour is 6 months old tomorrow so this was likely her last show for the foreseeable future as I am probably going to breed her now.

With the arrival of spring we have also welcomed the arrival of several litters at Beeghos HQ. I definitely have my hands full with all the little ones running around right now! They’re all absolutely perfect and I’m so so pleased with them already 🥰

In order of appearance we have:

🐀 british blue and black from Beeghos Black Betty (black doe) x Beeghos Banana Bender (silver blue buck).

🐁 agouti, cinnamon and cinnamon pearl from Beeghos Baby Snowball (ivory dumbo doe) x Beeghos Pepper (agouti buck).

🐀 champagne from Beeghos Not My Cuppa Tea (champagne doe) and Beeghos Butter Beer (champagne buck).

Picking keepers in a few weeks time is going to be so difficult 😭

Lovely day out at our local show in Rutherglen last weekend 🥰 After a bit of a disastrous start to the day (we won’t talk about it…) the team did redeem themselves in the end and we came home with some prizes.

What a day at the NERS show in Stannington! I am still in holiday mode after getting back from sunny Australia on Wednesday (still working on catching up with rattery admin, please bear with me!) so I only took a few rats with me this time as I really didn’t have it in me to do loads of show prep 🙈 It was a nice relaxed day and it was lovely seeing everyone again after a bit of a break. Anyway, here are the results:

Rumour has now gained enough points to qualify for the title of NFRS Silver Champion, and Barracuda has also qualified for NFRS Silver Champion as well as NERS Varieties Champion. Massive achievement for both girls especially considering both are still under 6 months old!

And the good news don’t end there… spring appears to have arrived at Beeghos HQ and with it the sound of eepers!! ❤️

Big weekend out with the team at the start of March (I’m so late posting this 😂), this time all the way in Harlow at the London & Southern Counties Mouse & Rat Club show. It was a decent sized show with 79 in varieties and 48 pets. They really smashed it!

Yesterday we attended the NERS 1* Preston show and came away with some wins. I have a mostly fresh show team as the older girls are being retired, hopefully in order to have some babies soon. The newcomers didn’t do too bad though!

I have a number of ✨ DWARF ✨ kittens available at Beeghos HQ.

They are all friendly, outgoing little people and super super cute. I am really smitten with them! They cannot live with regular full size rats so will need to be housed separately in their own cage, but otherwise their care is the same. There are both bucks and does available. Beeghos stud is a rattery located near Bathgate, Scotland.

Currently breeding the following lines:
🐁 black, british blue and british blue agouti
🐀 champagne and silver fawn
🐁 ivory and ivory dumbo

And working on developing the dwarf variety in agouti and cinnamon with rex and essex from 2023 onwards.

I breed rats for exhibition and pets with the aim of improving my lines and achieving personal goals within the rattery. Occasionally surplus kittens may be available for pet homing, subject to a complete application form - DM the page for more info.

Another successful weekend, this time at the 1* Christmas Show Stannington with NERS. I had a really lovely time judging pets! Absolutely blown away with the team’s results in varieties 😭

I also had some amazing feedback on my dwarf kittens and the currently unnamed (I’m working on it!) agouti rex dwarf doe kitten took Provisional Standard. The future of dwarf as a variety is starting to look brighter as we make progress with them 🥰

This was the last time showing these two as a pair as they are now 13 weeks old. Next time they make an appearance they will be adults 🥺

Special mention to one of the dwarf kittens which came 3rd in Provisional Standard in a large class of 9. It’s always such a massive achievement to see a dwarf placing in PS as 99% of the time they compete against Silkens which have had a lot more work put into them as a variety. But we’ll get there too!

I am pleased to announce that Beeghos Storm Chaser (British blue agouti doe, NFRS Silver Champion) has given birth to her 2nd litter sired by Beeghos Botulism (black buck) yesterday afternoon.

Storm did not have the easiest birth this time around and things have been a bit rocky in the first 24 hours but hopefully everything should be ok now. I am looking forward to seeing mum and babies thrive 🥰

When you’re only 14 days old but trying your best

Lana Banana with her dried banana chip 🍌 12 weeks old today 😊

When you just want to take some cute photos of your kittens but they’re just too naughty 😭

Kittens are 4 weeks and 1 day old today! The average weight is 99.4g, with the smallest being a 87g doe and largest 109g buck. They are very playful and love wrestling, as you can see in the video 😂

He's so fast 🐀💨

Playful baby 💕 They love being tickled but when all 14 of them are jumping about like this it's pure chaos!

When the babies take over the food bowl and poor mum has to settle for a piece of pasta. 20 days old today and very hyper. They're now jumping up to the door of the cage so I have to be very careful to not lose any!! They're slowly starting to eat solids, although the wetter meals (such as fish here) seem to be preferred by them still. Hopefully I will have some time to redecorate the cage on Monday and give them some more things to play with 💕

Pancake came out to say hello to me but since she was feeding, some of the babies fell out of the nest. Here she is putting them back. Sound on for some baby cuteness 🔊
