So amazingly Proud of these partnerships today, they entered their first ever Rally O competitions and all gained the highest place rosette they can get....

I have several other partnerships who have completed the online competition so no doubt there will be more celebrations on Monday when those results are published.

Congratulations to all, If anyone else is interested and would like to enter the next online competition happening in September please let me know...

Well we should have six partnerships that have successfully completed the online Rally O competition and submitted videos ...
Two partnership's are entering an in person competition on Saturday.....
Good luck to everyone and you know whatever happens you have the best dogs anyway....

I will let everyone know when the next online competition is available and I am sure a few more partnerships can enter.....

This morning's Medley class was Scent Work, All but one partnership were new to Scent Work, the partnership that had done it previously hadn't done it outdoors before.
Outdoor Scent work is a lot more challenging than indoor as the wind and environment is a lot more diverse with scent travel.
All the partnerships searched for cheese and all did really well and got the scent bug....

Wow, what a brilliant day, fantastic weather and so much fun, this is my Hoopers class, learning the T-an-go mat for the first time... It didn't phase any of them and I am looking forward to them getting even more independence and speed over it in time...

I am currently organising my next presentation for Wherry Vets in Bungay.
Titled 'No walks, No worries'

It will be suitable for all puppy and dog owners.

For puppies that are not fully vaccinated
Dogs that are injured or post surgery
Dogs when it is too hot to be walked
Dogs that are worried by walks or are reactive and need days to decompress
Elderly dogs that yearn for mental enrichment but whose bodies struggle with lengthy walks

I will be talking about lots of different enrichment activities including body awareness and confidence building exercises, scentwork both active and passive,tricks and movement puzzles.

Tonight in my APDT intermediate class we looked at Assistance dogs tasks including opening doors.

A good recall isn't always the easiest thing... Especially with an adolescent entire boy dogs....

But it can be done, there is a place for management to prevent rehearsal of chasing bunnies, other dogs etc....

Finding the right motivation and looking at ways to use it are key .....

Understanding why the environment is sometimes too much to cope with the responsibility....

Safety has to be paramount and never let your dog off lead near traffic, railway tracks or livestock unless you have 110% recall...
If you are on a new walk and don't know where roads etc are don't risk it with any dog that hasn't reliable recall.....

Long lines and other light weight lines are your friend if used correctly, but don't use in woodland where they can get caught up.

There is no better sight than your dog free running and having fun, but it isn't worth risking your dog's life ..

Today we are blessed with awesome venues which have secure fields, a brilliant option whilst you are putting the training in....

I am involved with a couple of events this year aimed at helping every dog reach it's potential and have a great relationship with their owners.

The first is on Saturday 13th July, at Dip Farm where I will be joined by friends to run a have a go agility event with all proceeds going to the fantastic charity the Cinnamon Trust.

The second is on Sunday 4th August at Uplands community centre. Where there will be a fun dog show and other stalls.
I am proud today that Look Forward Dog Training have sponsored class and will be there with a stand, to give training and behavioural advice....

I hope you all support these events and have great time.

NEW for June 2024... Marvelous Monday Medley..... Starting at 9.15am-10.15am this class will be early enough if the weather is warm to get training in before.... Each week I will cover a different topic.... Scentwork Parkour Rally O Tricks Body awareness & Movement puzzles And a CSI class of things like temptation alley, emergency stop, waits and stays etc.... There will be the option to attend just one session or at a reduced rate all of the sessions. If you book 1-2 sessions they will be £12.00 each 3-4 sessions £11.00 each or 5-6 sessions £10.00 each..... If you have multiple dogs you can bring a different one each session, rotate or alternate.... The venue will be outside in Beccles ... Please comment below if you are interested...

Super proud of Dorothy & Jacy this morning, a fabulous Rally O Outdoors course completed.x

I am so lucky to be able to support LUKAG dogs on their rescue journeys if they need a little extra help. This little girl was adopted by her fabulous new owners nearly a month ago, unfortunately when she arrived she was so traumatised she didn't get out of her bed for 48hrs or eat.... Three sessions later and she is doing so well I am signing her off, but will always be here if she needs me .... One happy puppy that is enjoying life now....

Well a really busy day today, seven hours of classes.... Amazing partnerships all day & evening, super progress from each and everyone.... Well done all.....

Due to ill health I now have one place available on Monday afternoons fun agility. The dog must be over a year old, non reactive to other dogs and have a suitable recall. Please contact me if you are interested.

Fun agility now full. I have two last minute places that have become available on my Monday classes at Beccles. Suitable for either dogs that have trained with me before or new dogs. The dogs must be people & dog friendly and not reactive. Any age from puppies upwards for the Rally O Outdoors 9.15-10.15am or from a year old for the fun agility class 1.30-2.30pm. These classes commence this Monday and are six weeks courses at £70.00 per course. Please contact me to reserve either place.
