Been a while hey little man!
Cobalt had 3 months off for his winter break. We have a saddle fitting Friday so thought we’d see how he felt if I rode him for the fitting.
Little man was a (lazy) angel!
Kala!
Who would of thought that untrusting and marish horse would be letting me on her back just 3 days later!
My biggest advice if you’re choosing to have a project horse and backing / rebacking is not to rush the groundwork.
If I had gone in on the first day with a time limit or a solid aim today wouldn’t of happened!
On the first day it took me 1 hour to get Kala to look at me.
The second day 20 minutes before she took a step towards me.
Third day 26 minutes before she was trusting me across her back.
On that first day I was explaining to @vic.priv__e the hardest part is to keep my own emotions in check. Not to get frustrated or check the clock! To just be there with Kala wether she was anxious or happy I’d be the support.
