I can't believe it has been over 8mths since I last posted here. This post is different to posts I normally write, but I just wanted to be honest and clear and address issues that I (and others) have had to face.
Times have been difficult, work reduced dramatically (as I'm sure you can imagine) and it was incredibly difficult to make ends meet and stay motivated.
I always thought my business was bulletproof. Owners needs their dog walking if they are at work all day, and cats need looking after when the humans go on holiday... Until there is a global pandemic and everyone works from home and no one is allowed to go on holiday!
I took on some care work for a lovely lady who is disabled and my caring nature was restored once more. It gave me a sense of purpose, gave me spending money and company. Gradually, dog walks are picking up again and people are daring to either go on holiday or at least make plans to go.
Everyone has managed the pandemic differently. Some reach out and others withdraw, and unfortunately, I was the in the latter category. I also sustained a serious knee injury, which is being managed but requires surgery for which I have no set date yet due to Covid delays. They are optimistic it may be in 2023 sometime!!
With restrictions being lifted, I just want to say one thing. Some people will be delighted that they can hug others with no questions asked. They will boldly stroll through shops and supermarkets without giving a mask a second thought and will be eagerly planning their next big night out. For some, the fear of easing restrictions will spike their anxiety and they may still be comfortable wearing masks and not making contact. My point is, please have respect for everyone's decisions. We may be on the same path, but someone else's pace may be different to your own.
More uplifting posts will follow shortly with lots of fluffy creatures to lift your spirits.
Take care guys x
