Well, the sunshine and warm weather is great isn’t it? Enjoy this time with your dog but please only walk them super early in the morning or later at night when it is cooler. Your dog will not come to harm by missing a few walks but could come to harm if you do walk them. There’s lots of activities you can do without needing to walk your dog. Check back later for some ideas.

‘Owner Enrichment’ - if this isn’t a thing then it should be shouldn’t it? No puppies allowed on my visit to the farm today but lots of cuddles with newborn lambs for me 😁 Don’t forget, if you are walking over fields then please have your dogs under control at all times and preferably on leads around livestock.

Recall is one of the most important behaviours you can teach dogs. Long lines allow handlers to maintain control whilst also giving dogs freedom. Recall training takes effort and time but is so worth the trouble.

Body language is about so much more than a wagging tail. Even a wagging tail doesn’t mean your dog is happy. Learning to read your dog’s body language is essential; it can also help you to understand other dogs too!

When big soft dog meets cute kitty! Oh dear, introducing pets to one another is tricky. My 7 year old goldie did not appreciate this introduction but the kitty was here for the day. So, lots of slow gradual encouragement needed and many many training treats later he was tolerating the kitten. They are not quite at the cuddle up stage but that’s the aim 😂
