We are hosting a farmers meeting for the new mycoplasma vaccine (Protivity).

This vaccine will suit our calf rearers who experience pneumonia or calves with a head tilt/drooping ear.

Date: Wednesday 15th January 2025.

Time: 12:00pm sharp.

Location: Sedgemoor Auction Centre, North Petherton, Bridgwater, TA6 6DF.

*HOT MEAL WILL BE INCLUDED*

Bridgwater Agricultural Society invite Somerset farmers to attend a meeting to discuss the recent Government budget on where the agricultural industry stands on the abolishment of the Agricultural Property Relief and the implications on Inheritance tax.

The meeting will be held on Thursday 5th December 2024, 7pm
Sedgemoor Market, Junction 24, North Petherton.
Guest speaker for the evening is
Mr Nick Smy of Thomas Westcott.

Numbers are limited and registration is required with confirmation of name, address and numbers attending to [email protected] or 07747763023.

A further free private meeting with Thomas Westcott on an individual basis will be held on Friday 6th December at Sedgemoor Market from 10am. Anyone wishing to book a private meeting will be asked to register on the evening of the 5th December 2024.

Our Vet Chiara and Vet Tech Helen spent the evening with Brymore Young Farmers discussing career paths within the Veterinary industry. They also brought a range of equipment and talked through what they are used for. An enjoyable evening for all.

Last month’s flock club covered foot management and lameness. We had demonstrations on addressing lame sheep and our Vet Tech Laura discussed our lameness review service.

Eoghan talked on fertility management and Victoria demonstrated how to access the AHWP to fund Vet input on Beef Farms.

With a heavy heart we have said farewell to Cormac after 7 years at FarmVets. In his time with us he has completed a certificate and won a Nuffield Scholarship, as well as starting several popular discussion groups such as the Grazing and Flock clubs. We wish him lots of luck for the future. He will be greatly missed. 🍀
