A little Rupert appreciation who is now a grandad to our gorgeous HowtonOak Flying Solo 🙊
Whilst he hasn’t slowed down a lot you can tell he is an older gentleman these days. He is pretty much deaf 😂 and a few more grey hairs apart from that he is still up for whatever.
Can’t believe he is turning 11 in December 🙈

HowtonOak Flying Solo is 5 weeks old today! He is also having his first experience of the outside world today (video to come) and let me tell you he wasn’t phased in the slightest. Now we have had a fair few spaniel pups now and HowtonOak Flying Solo has to be the happiest boy so far. Now I know your thinking how is that possible all spaniels are full of happiness…I can assure you his cup of happiness is overflowing! He does everything with pure happiness and a smile, he is just the loveliest boy and melts the hearts of everyone he meets. He is just such a gorgeous boy with a beautiful soul 🥰

Those little black dots in the lane are Echo & Diesel. I thought let’s have some fun and see how reliable their stay (or wait as I use) is. I haven’t done it in a while with Echo either and Diesel is now 4 months old so I wasn’t expecting anything great so ask for a sit, followed by ‘wait’ (backed up with a hand signal) and off I walked. I didn’t even look back, I kept walking until I reached the footpath sign and turned around to find them both still sitting there focused on me, they had not moved a muscle. I do expect it from Echo but Diesel I was truly impressed with, what a boy 🥰

Diesel now 18 weeks old (4 months) and came with us to our local country fair and we even took the tractor too.
As always he was such a good boy with lots of compliments on how relaxed and calm he was. Such a wonderful boy 🥰

A little Diesel update as I have had a few people asking how he is doing.
Diesel is doing very well and getting bigger and bigger everyday 🙈
He is 17 weeks old today, he is doing really well with his training and still proving to be an easy boy.
We haven’t been asking too much of him as he is only a puppy so want to keep everything as short and fun as we can.
Here is a little snippet of what we got up to today, working on our heel work still as well as ‘stay’.
We then also enjoyed a few throws of a training dummy to finish on something really fun.

Back again to mention dog food.
So Pip our little Jack Russell has been suffering with allergies a little bit more as she is become an older lady and that’s fine. We wanted to help her out a little bit to which she preferred Butternut Box.
So unlike Diesel who is on a raw diet, Pip much prefers a home cooked meal. So for those who haven’t heard of Butternut Box there dog food is cooked.
Pip has been loving it and is just purely now fed Butternut box however it can also be fed as a food topper or in replacement of tinned meat.
Like the raw it’s frozen and you just take out to defrost and just feed.
We have already noticed an improvement with her allergy’s and her skin and coat has improved lots.

Diesel now 15 weeks old 🙊
He is getting so big as well as tall legged.
Then little HowtonOak Flying Solo who is 2 weeks old this coming Monday hit a whopping 1kg in weight last night! Talk about dumpling, all the boys this year have been made with an extra shot of chunky this year I’m sure of it 😂

Fizz is being such a wonderful mum and I just know she is enjoying herself. For the last couple of litters we have had she would get so excited and wanted to meet them so badly she would cry with excitement. So I just knew she was going to love being a mummy when it was her time. HowtonOak Flying Solo is doing so well (as you can see) he is such a pudding as he has the whole milk bar to himself 🙊

Well…it’s flown past! HowtonOak Flying Solo is 1 week old today!
And let me tell you what a pudding he is too. So spoilt, a whole milk bar to himself as well as all the fuss and love from his mummy Fizz.

Diesel now 14 weeks old 🙊
We decided we would put Diesel on raw as he wasn’t getting on with biscuits all that well, which sometimes happens.
It was a personal choice to swap him over to raw and whilst he was eating the biscuits and being a larger breed we wanted to make sure he was happy and his body is happy as he is doing all the important growing so for us we wanted to make sure we support growing puppies from before birth to up to they leave including after they have flown the nest
(Or if they have stayed with us) and always offer advice and help where we can.

If anyone would like to try raw feeding their dog I would highly recommend it as it does have lots of benefits (like any food does)

I really enjoy training with our dogs and I really enjoy training puppies. I find it so rewarding, especially when they start to understand what you’re asking and teaching them. Here is HowtonOak Spectre Defender learning to heel or ‘here’ as I use at 9 weeks old. Never to early to start their training as long as it’s fun, short and sweet.
